In 2021, Herbert Aceituno became the first athlete to win a medal, earning bronze in powerlifting at the 59 kg category.

The 2024 Summer Paralympics, also known as the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, and branded as Paris 2024, were the 17th Summer Paralympic Games, an international multi-sport parasports event governed by the International Paralympic Committee. The Games were held in Paris, France, from 28 August to 8 September 2024, and featured 549 medal events across 22 sports. These games marked the first time Paris hosted the Summer Paralympics and the second time France hosted the Paralympic Games, following the 1992 Winter Paralympics in Tignes and Albertville. France also hosted the 2024 Summer Olympics.

El Salvador sent a delegation to compete in the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil from 7 to 18 September 2016. This was the country's fifth successive appearance in the Summer Paralympics since debuting at the 2000 Summer Paralympics. The Salvadoran delegation to Rio consisted of one athlete, powerlifter Herbert Aceituno, who qualified for the Games through his world ranking of 13th and his participation was confirmed by the International Paralympic Committee in August 2016. He failed to lift 185 kilograms (408 lb) in three attempts during the men's 72 kg tournament and was therefore not ranked in the final standings by the judges.

He is a bronze medalist at the 2020 Summer Paralympics held in Tokyo, Japan, a silver medalist at the 2021 World Para Powerlifting Championships held in Tbilisi, Georgia and a gold medalist at the 2019 Parapan American Games held in Lima, Peru.

Qi Yongkai is a Chinese Paralympic powerlifter. He won the gold medal in the men's 59 kg event at the 2020 Summer Paralympics held in Tokyo, Japan. He also won silver at the 2024 Summer Paralympics held in Paris, France.

Powerlifting at the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris, France took place between 4 and 8 September 2024 in Porte de La Chapelle Arena. There were twenty events in total, consisting of ten events for both men and women.

Archery competitions at the 2023 Parapan American Games in Santiago, Chile were held between 19 and 22 November 2023 at the Archery Center in Peñalolén.

Table tennis competitions at the 2023 Parapan American Games in Santiago, Chile from 16 to 20 November. There were eleven singles events and four doubles events for men and five singles events and two doubles event for women, there were also four mixed doubles events.
