Elbrus Tedeyev (born December 5, 1974, in Nogir, Prigorodny District, North Ossetian ASSR, [1] Soviet Union) is a Ukrainian wrestler.

Career

He is an Olympic champion; he became a citizen of Ukraine in 1993. [2] He won a gold medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. [3] He is a three-time world champion and the brother of Dzhambolat Tedeyev, who also represented Ukraine.

Tedeyev became People's Deputy of Ukraine in 2006 as an independent politician on the party list of Party of Regions, he was reelected on this list during early parliamentary elections in 2007 [2] and again in 2012. [4]

Dzhambolat Ilyich Tedeyev born 23 August 1968) is a Russian-Ukrainian former wrestler who competed in the 1996 Summer Olympics. He is the brother of Elbrus Tedeyev.

Nikolay Borislavov Gergov is an amateur Bulgarian Greco-Roman wrestler, who played for the men's welterweight category. He defeated South Korea's Kim Min-Chul for a gold medal in the 66 kg division at the 2005 World Wrestling Championships in Budapest, Hungary, in addition to his bronze from the 2007 World Wrestling Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan. He is also a two-time Olympian, a double European wrestling champion, and a member of Slavia Litex Wrestling Club in Sofia, under his personal coach Bratan Tzenov. Because of his further successes in wrestling, Gergov was selected as one of eleven athletes for the Bulgarian Sports Personality Award in 2007.

Serguei Rondón Pedroso is a retired amateur Cuban freestyle wrestler, who competed in the men's welterweight category. He won the gold medal in the 66-kg division at the 2003 Pan American Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and was later selected to the Cuban team for the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. Oleksandr Petrovych Khvoshch is an amateur Ukrainian Greco-Roman wrestler, who competed in the men's lightweight category. He scored two career medals in the 60-kg division at the European Championships, and also represented his nation Ukraine at the 2004 Summer Olympics. Throughout his sporting career, Khvoshch has been training full-time as a member of the wrestling team for Dynamo Sports Club in Zaporizhzhia, under head coach Viktor Michienko.

Apostolos Taskoudis is an amateur Greek freestyle wrestler, who competed in the men's welterweight category. Taskoudis finished sixth in the 66-kg class when Greece hosted the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, and has also captured three gold medals in the 74-kg division in beach wrestling at the World Championships. In 2015 he won the gold medal at the Mediterranean Beach Games in Pescara. Throughout his sporting career, Taskoudis has been training for San Georgios Wrestling Club in his native Serres, under his personal coach Avtandil Bzalava.

Zhan Vensanovych Beleniuk is a Ukrainian politician and retired Greco-Roman wrestler. He is a three-time Olympic medalist and won the gold medal in the Greco-Roman 87 kg at the 2020 Summer Olympics, the silver medal in the Greco-Roman 85 kg at the 2016 Summer Olympics and a bronze medal in the Greco-Roman 87 kg at the 2024 Summer Olympics. Beleniuk is also a two-time world champion, a three-time European champion and a European Games champion. In 2019, he became the first black member of the Ukrainian Parliament.
