The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Dar es Salaam (Indonesian : Kedutaan Besar Republik Indonesia di Dar es Salaam) is the diplomatic mission of the Republic of Indonesia to the Tanzania and concurrently as the representative of Indonesia for Republic of Burundi, and Republic of Rwanda . [1] [2] The current Indonesian ambassador to Tanzania is Ratlan Pardede who was appointed by President Joko Widodo on 18 May 2017. [3]
Tanzania's first president, Julius Nyerere also was one of the founding members of the Non-Aligned Movement, and, during the Cold War era, Tanzania played an important role in regional and international organisations, such as the Non-Aligned Movement, the front-line states, the G-77, and the Organisation of African Unity (OAU). One of Africa's best-known elder statesmen, Nyerere was personally active in many of these organisations, and served chairman of the OAU (1984–85) and chairman of six front-line states concerned with eliminating apartheid in Southern Africa. Nyerere was also involved with peace negotiations in Burundi until his death. Nyerere's death, on 14 October 1999, is still commemorated annually.
Indonesia and Tanzania established diplomatic relations on 13 January 1965. The relations between both nations are mostly in the agriculture sector, where Indonesia provides training for Tanzanian farmers. In 2011 both countries established Indonesia-Tanzania Joint Agriculture Cooperation Committee (JACC), as a vehicle to improve agricultural sector co-operations, such as capacity building through training, joint research, and the expansion of market access to agricultural products. Indonesia has an embassy in Dar es Salaam. Tanzania has a non-resident ambassador in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Since 2023, Tanzania had opened an embassy in Jakarta. Both countries are members of multilateral organisations such as World Trade Organization (WTO), the Group of 77 and Non-Aligned Movement.
Krzysztof Buzalski is a Polish diplomat in the rank of Minister-Counsellor specializing in relations with Sub-Saharan Africa countries, since 3 December 2017 serving as Poland ambassador to Tanzania.
Poland–Tanzania relations are the diplomatic relations between the Republic of Poland and the United Republic of Tanzania. Both nations are members of the United Nations and the World Trade Organization.
