Niurka Montalvo Amaro is a former Cuban and Spanish athlete who specialised in the long jump and triple jump events. Her greatest achievement came in 1999, when she became world champion with a personal best jump of 7.06 metres. She was the autonomous secretary of sport for the Autonomous government of Valencia.

She won four titles at regional level at the Central American and Caribbean Games in 1970 and 1974, as well as being the 1971 and 1973 champion at the Central American and Caribbean Championships in Athletics.
Alberto Cruz is a Mexican former racewalker. He was a world junior champion and took a bronze medal at the 1993 IAAF World Race Walking Cup. Amongst his senior honours are gold medals from the Central American and Caribbean and Ibero-American Championships.
Irene Martínez Tartabull was a Cuban track and field athlete who competed in the long jump and the short sprints. She was the first woman from the Central American and Caribbean region to clear six metres in the long jump. She was also the first Cuban to win a jumps gold medal at the Pan American Games – a discipline in which the country later became highly successful.

Nobuko Fujimura is a Japanese female former long-distance runner who competed in the marathon. She won the Hokkaido Marathon in 1993 and the Tokyo Women's Marathon in 1996. She represented her country at the World Championships in Athletics (1997), IAAF World Cross Country Championships (1994), and was a bronze medallist at the 1994 Asian Games.
