Enteridium is a genus of slime molds belonging to the family Reticulariaceae. [1]
Mycobank, WoRMS and ITIS list this name as accepted. [1] [2] [3] However, IRMNG lists it as rejected and gives Reticularia Bulliard, 1788 as the accepted name, [4] as does Index Fungorum. [5]
Chlorosplenium is a genus of fungi in the family Dermateaceae. The genus was circumscribed by Elias Magnus Fries in 1849.
Enteridium lycoperdon, the false puffball, is one of the more obvious species of slime mould or Myxogastria, typically seen in its reproductive phase as a white 'swelling' on standing dead trees in the spring, or on large pieces of fallen wood. Alder is a common host.
