Ethmostigmus trigonopodus is a species of centipede in the family Scolopendridae. [1] It goes by a number of common names, including the African giant centipede [2] and the Tanzanian blue ring centipede. [3]
Ethmostigmus trigonopodus from northern parts of Nigeria can reach sexual maturity within one year, which is uncommon in centipedes. [4]
There exist two valid subspecies, [5] E. trigonopodus trigonopodus, and E. trigonopodus pygmenasoides. [1] [6] [7]
