Eucamaragnathus is a genus of ground beetles in the Hiletinae subfamily. [1]
The 15 different species of Eucamaragnathus live on various continents. E. amapa, E. batesi, E. brasiliensis, and E. jaws live in South America. [2] Five other species live throughout India and Southeast Asia, in the Indomalayan realm, while the remaining 6 species live throughout Africa, mostly in the tropics. [3] [4]
The species of Eucamaragnathus mostly live in the soils within forests, usually tropical or deciduous. They can also be found in savannas. [4]
Eucamaragnathus contains 15 species. [2] However, due to the fact that the species Eucamaragnathus desenderi was only recently discovered, [5] many sources still claim that the genus only contains 14 species. [4]
The following diagram shows how all of the species in the genus are related to one another. This diagram does not include E. desenderi. [6]

Amara is a large genus of carabid beetles, commonly called the sun beetles. Many are holarctic, but a few species are neotropical or occur in eastern Asia.
Hiletinae is a subfamily of beetles in the family Carabidae, containing 21 species in two genera. All of the species in the genus Hiletus, as well as 6 species in Eucamaragnathus, live in Africa. The other species in Eucamaragnathus live in either Southeast Asia and India, or in South America.
Epomis is a subgenus of ground beetle genus Chlaenius. The larvae of this subgenus are notable for being obligate role-reversal predators. Amphibians such as frogs are normally predators of beetles; however, Epomis larvae feed exclusively on amphibians.
Bembidion grapii is a species of ground beetle in the family Carabidae. It is found in Europe and Northern Asia and North America.
Patrobus stygicus is a species of ground beetle in the family Carabidae. It is found in North America.
Chlaenius pimalicus is a species of ground beetle in the family Carabidae. It is found in North America.
Calleida punctata is a species of ground beetle in the family Carabidae. It is found in North America.
Selenophorus hylacis is a species of ground beetle in the family Carabidae. It is found in North America.
Oxycrepis sculptilis is a species of ground beetle in the family Carabidae. It is found in North America.
Eretes sticticus, the western erete, is a species of predaceous diving beetle in the family Dytiscidae. It is found in Africa, the Middle East, and the Americas from the southern United States to Peru. This species preys specifically on mosquito larvae in ponds and pools. They can kill up to all the instar larvae of the mosquito depending on size and density of the prey.
Scaphinotus hoffmani is a species of ground beetle in the family Carabidae. It is found in North America.
Anillinus depressus is a species of ground beetle in the family Carabidae. It is found in North America.
Scarites quadriceps is a species of ground beetle in the family Carabidae. It is found in North America. It can be found beneath debris on the edges of fields or beaches.
Semiardistomis viridis is a species of ground beetle in the family Carabidae. It is found in North America.
Scaphinotus cordatus is a species of ground beetle in the family Carabidae. It is found in North America.
Lebia perita is a species of ground beetle in the family Carabidae. It is found in North America.
Notiophilus intermedius is a species of ground beetle in the family Carabidae. It is found in North America.
Poecilus chalcites is a species of woodland ground beetle in the family Carabidae. It is found in the Caribbean, Central America, and North America.
Omophron solidum, the solid round sand beetle, is a species of ground beetle in the family Carabidae. It is found in North America.
Bembidion ambiguum is a species of ground beetle native to the Mediterranean region of Europe and North Africa. It is mainly confined to coastal salt marshes on moist clay soil.
