Aleksandar "Saša" Đorđević or Sale Đorđević is a Serbian professional basketball coach and former player. He currently serves as a head coach for the senior China. During his playing career, he was listed as a 1.88 m (6'2") 90 kg (198 lb.) point guard.

Vassilis Spanoulis is a Greek former professional basketball player and current professional basketball coach for Peristeri Athens of the Greek Basket League and the FIBA Champions League. Spanoulis spent the majority of his playing career in the Greek Basket League, winning four Greek League titles as a member of Panathinaikos Athens, and three Greek titles as a member of Olympiacos Piraeus. He also won three EuroLeague titles, one with the former club (2009), and two consecutive with the latter. HoopsHype named Spanoulis one of the 75 Greatest International Players Ever in 2021. In 2022, he was named a EuroLeague Legend. He was also inducted into the Greek Basket League Hall of Fame in 2022.

Emma Meesseman is a Belgian professional basketball player for Fenerbahçe of the EuroLeague Women and the Chicago Sky of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). After playing basketball in Belgium, Meesseman was drafted by the Washington Mystics with the 19th overall pick in the second round of the 2013 WNBA draft. She has also played for the Belgian international team and several European professional teams. She was named the 2011 FIBA Europe Young Women's Player of the Year and the 2019 WNBA Finals MVP. Meesseman studied physical education at Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
Juan Alberto "Juancho" Hernangómez Geuer is a Spanish professional basketball player who last played for the Toronto Raptors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He previously played for Estudiantes of the Liga ACB, and has represented the senior Spain national team. He was selected by the Denver Nuggets with the 15th overall pick in the 2016 NBA draft and played for three and a half seasons with the team before being traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves. After spending one and a half seasons with the team in his seventh season, he had short stints with the Boston Celtics, San Antonio Spurs and Utah Jazz. He signed with Toronto Raptors in the 2022 off-season and also won the EuroBasket with his home country Spain.
The EuroBasket 2022 was the 41st edition of the EuroBasket championship organized by FIBA Europe. It was the first since it was agreed it would take place every four years, with a similar system of qualification as for the FIBA Basketball World Cup. It was originally scheduled to take place between 2 and 19 September 2021, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent postponement of the 2020 Summer Olympics to 2021, it was postponed to September 2022.

The 2021 European Women Basketball Championship, commonly called EuroBasket Women 2021, was the 38th edition of the continental tournament in women's basketball, sanctioned by the FIBA Europe. It was co-hosted by France and Spain between 17 and 27 June 2021. It was the third time to be hosted by multiple countries. The tournament also served as part of European qualification for the 2022 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup, with the top six nations advancing to the qualifying tournaments. The final were planned to be held at the AccorHotels Arena in Paris but moved to the Pavelló Municipal Font de San Lluís, in Valencia.
