Eurysticta reevesi is a species of damselfly in the family Isostictidae, [2] commonly known as a Queensland pin. [3] It has only been recorded from Central Queensland, Australia, where it inhabits pools in rivers. [4]
Damselflies are insects of the suborder Zygoptera in the order Odonata. They are similar to dragonflies, which constitute the other odonatan suborder, Anisoptera, but are smaller, have slimmer bodies, and most species fold the wings along the body when at rest. An ancient group, damselflies have existed since at least the Lower Permian, and are found on every continent except Antarctica.
Isostictidae is a small family of medium-sized to large damselflies restricted to Australia, New Caledonia, and New Guinea. It contains 12 genera and more than 40 species. Members of this family resemble species in the threadtail family (Protoneuridae).
