Fern is a town in Florence County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 153 at the 2000 census.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 35.2 square miles (91.1 km2), of which, 34.0 square miles (88.1 km2) of it is land and 1.2 square miles (3.0 km2) of it (3.33%) is water.
As of the census [2] of 2000, there were 153 people, 71 households, and 47 families residing in the town. The population density was 4.5 inhabitants per square mile (1.7/km2). There were 334 housing units at an average density of 9.8 per square mile (3.8/km2). The racial makeup of the town was 98.04% White, and 1.96% from two or more races.
There were 71 households, out of which 25.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.3% were married couples living together, 8.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 32.4% were non-families. 31.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 14.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.15 and the average family size was 2.67.
In the town, the population was spread out, with 22.2% under the age of 18, 2.0% from 18 to 24, 21.6% from 25 to 44, 35.3% from 45 to 64, and 19.0% who were 65 years of age or older. Vincent, originally known as Propel, is a city in Shelby, St. Clair, and Talladega counties in the U.S. state of Alabama. At the 2020 census, the population was 1,982. The community was first known as Propel, but later named Vincent in honor of the Vincent family, who were early settlers of the area. It was incorporated in 1897.
