Fibramia thermalis, also known as the half-barred cardinal or Sangi cardinalfish, [1] is a species of cardinalfish found in both the Indian and Pacific Oceans. [2]

Apogon is a large genus of fish in the family Apogonidae, the cardinalfishes. They are among the most common fish on coral reefs. Over 200 species have been classified in genus Apogon as members of several subgenera. Some of these subgenera, such as Ostorhinchus, have been elevated to genus status, leaving just over 50 species in the genus.

Sangi Railway Co., Ltd. is a private railway company in Mie Prefecture, Japan, which also operates bus lines. The company was founded in 1928 and its initial line, the Sangi Line, originally functioned as a freight line transporting cement, but later developed into an important commuter railway line for Yokkaichi. The Hokusei Line was transferred from Kintetsu ownership in 2003 when Kintetsu abandoned the line. Whereas the Sangi Line has a track gauge of 1,067 mm, the Hokusei Line is one of only a few 762 mm narrow gauge lines remaining in the country.

The pajama cardinalfish, spotted cardinalfish, coral cardinalfish, or polkadot cardinalfish is a species of fish belonging to the family Apogonidae. It is a popular aquarium fish. It grows to a total length around 8.5 cm (3.3 in) and features distinctive red eyes and a broad, dark, vertical 'waistband' with scattered red spots toward the tail. It is considered to be of low vulnerability, and is distributed throughout much of the western Pacific Ocean, from Java to Fiji, and from the Ryukyu Islands south to the Great Barrier Reef. The male pajama cardinalfish incubates the eggs in his mouth until they hatch.

The bigtooth cardinalfish or longtooth cardinalfish is a species of marine fish in the family Apogonidae and the only member of its genus. The bigtooth cardinalfish lives in the west-central Atlantic, off southern Florida, United States, and from the Bahamas to Venezuela, and as far south as Suriname. This species also is found in the east-central Atlantic and the Gulf of Guinea, and has been reported as far as Cape Verde. It is a pale orangeish colour.
