Friis Arne Petersen (born 25 November 1952) is a Danish diplomat who since 2015 has been Denmark's ambassador to Germany. From the Embassy in Berlin,Petersen is also accredited as Denmark's ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
Petersen was educated as Cand.polit. from the University of Copenhagen in 1978. [1] After completing his education,he was appointed Secretary of the National Audit Office for one year. In 1979 he was employed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,and in the same year was appointed as a clerk. From 1981 to 1984 Petersen was posted as the first secretary to the Danish embassy in Cairo,Egypt. [1]
In February 1986 he became Private Secretary to the Foreign Minister's office Uffe Ellemann-Jensen. In 1990 he was appointed head of the Foreign Ministers Private Office. Petersen continued serving under Foreign Minister Niels Helveg Petersen [1] from 1993 to 1994. In 1994 he became Head of Department with responsibility for Russia and Eastern Europe. In 1995,he was appointed under the secretary of foreign affairs. Petersen then became appointed Permanent Secretary of State of Foreign Affairs in 1997. [1] During the period of 1997 to 2005,Ambassador Petersen served as deputy to the Danish Foreign Minister in the EU Foreign Ministers Council. Additionally,Petersen served as the Danish Government's Representative in the Danish-Russian Governmental Council during the same period.
Petersen was appointed to Washington,D.C. as Denmark's ambassador to the United States in 2005. [1] An office he held until 2010,when he was appointed as ambassador to China for 5 years. Following this,he was appointed as Denmark's ambassador to Germany from August 2015 to 2020. While serving in Germany,he was also accredited ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein. [1]
Friis Arne Petersen served as adjunct professor at Copenhagen Business School in the Department of International Economics,Government and Business from 2018 to 2022.

Gustaf V was King of Sweden from 8 December 1907 until his death in 1950. He was the eldest son of King Oscar II of Sweden and Sophia of Nassau,a half-sister of Adolphe,Grand Duke of Luxembourg. The Order of the Dannebrog is a Danish order of chivalry instituted in 1671 by Christian V. Until 1808,membership in the Order was limited to fifty members of noble or royal rank,who formed a single class known as White Knights to distinguish them from the Blue Knights who were members of the Order of the Elephant. In 1808,the Order was reformed and divided into four classes. The statute of the Order was amended in 1951 by a Royal Ordinance so that both men and women could be members of the Order. Today,the Order of the Dannebrog is a means of honouring and rewarding the faithful servants of the modern Danish state for meritorious civil or military service,for a particular contribution to the arts,sciences or business life,or for working for Danish interests.

Admiral Claës Fabian Tamm was a Swedish Navy officer. Tamm began his naval career as an acting sub-lieutenant in 1899 and was promoted to sub-lieutenant in 1901. After attending the Royal Swedish Naval Staff College,he became a lieutenant in 1907 and taught at the Royal Swedish Naval Academy. From 1914 to 1917,he served as naval attachéin Berlin and Copenhagen. Tamm steadily advanced through the ranks,becoming a lieutenant commander in 1918 and head of the Royal Swedish Naval Academy in 1921. He was promoted to rear admiral in 1933 and appointed Commander-in-Chief of the Coastal Fleet that same year. In 1939,he became Chief of the Navy,a position he held until 1945,after which he was promoted to admiral in the reserve in 1947. Outside his military career,he chaired several companies,including Ströms Bruks AB and Rederi AB Svea.

Baron Johan Hugo Beck-Friis,was a Swedish diplomat. Beck-Friis had a long career in Swedish diplomacy. He began as an attachéin Paris in 1912,later serving in Hamburg,Berlin,and Bern before advancing to legation secretary in various cities,including Paris and Bucharest. His career progressed with appointments in Washington,D.C.,and as Consul General in Shanghai. During World War II,he served as envoy to Oslo,where he remained until the German occupation,and later represented Sweden to the Norwegian government-in-exile in London. In 1947,he became Sweden's first modern ambassador when the Swedish legation in Oslo was elevated to embassy status. He later served as envoy and ambassador to Rome before retiring in 1956. In 1959,as Dag Hammarskjöld's personal representative,he successfully mediated the resumption of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Cambodia. Beck-Friis also held numerous honorary positions,including chairman of several Swedish organizations,Grand Master of the Great Order of the Amaranth,and Chamberlain.
