The Gandapur ministry refers to the current provincial cabinet of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, headed by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on 2 March 2024. Governor Haji Ghulam Ali administered oath to him. [2] The inauguration ceremony was held in Peshawar, which was attended by party leaders and workers in large numbers. [3]
As Chief Minister, Ali Amin Gandapur has expressed his determination to restart the process of development in the province. He has prioritized the restoration of Sehat Insaf Card for the welfare of the people. He has also emphasized the importance of law and order and said that the establishment of lasting peace is his first priority. Gandapur has expressed its determination to make the province attractive to foreign investors. He has also promised to talk to the federal government to protect the rights of the province. [4]
The Gandapur ministry cabinet saw a relative reshuffle in the middle of 2024 when Fazal Hakim was assigned different portfolios and Shakeel Ahmad resigned. [3]

In a cabinet meeting, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Local Governments (Property Lease) Rules, 2024 was announced, extending the lease period of new "large-scale investments" of up to 90-years, this development has taken place while the Local Government department is under Arshad Ayub Khan. [6] On Eid-ul-Adha, he enacted and ordered a sanitation plan for the disposal of waste of sacrificial cattle which was deemed as a success. [7] [8] He also stated, referring to his department: “The department is undergoing digitization, and a new lease policy has been approved to strengthen institutions by eliminating corruption”. [8] Arshad Ayub also directed the Town Municipal Administrations (TMAs) of the province to reduce expenditure (spending) on fuel to avoid financial constraints. [9]
Minister Muhammad Sajjad stated that agriculture was the backbone of the economy and that since Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s land was fertile, he and the government would put special attention and effort into boosting the agriculture sector and making it self-sufficient. [10] He also directed officials in the Agriculture Department to plant more fruit orchards to more areas of the province while he visited the Directorate General of Agriculture Research in Peshawar. [11] He also continuously emphasized the Gandapur ministry’s commitment to agricultural research. [10] [11] [12]
Minister Syed Qasim Ali Shah visited the Khyber Medical University where he handed out scholarships and praised the university for strides in physiotherapy, nursing, and health sciences programs. He also supported the creation of more of the university's campuses in merged districts. [13] Under Qasim and Gandapur, the expansion of the Sehat Insaf Card was prioritized. The Health Department, under Syed Qasim Ali Shah announced a program aiming to expand free healthcare coverage under the Sehat Insaf Card and Ehsaas Programmes to 1 million people. [14]
Minister Faisal Khan Tarakai made the decision to begin setting up 400 community schools to selected districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under the Human Capital Investment Project. Faisal Tarakai stated that over 26,000 boys and girls would be enrolled in these community schools while 500 youth and early age classes would also be established in which a planned 32,000 more boys and girls would be enrolled. He also said 150 schools are also being established in selected districts, which would enroll 9,000 girls and boys while 11,000 more boys and girls would be enrolled under the Accelerated Learning Programme (ALP). [15] [16] He also emphasized initiatives in the education sector primarily involving teachers, women in education, female literacy and the enhancement of educational facilities via programs in merged tribal districts. [17] Tarakai and the ministry also started a program to provide free meals to primary school students. [18]
In a meeting with the KP Auqaf Department, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur directed Adnan Qadri’s department for the initiation of GIS mapping and the creation of an Assets Management Unit for Auqaf properties, together with a Quran Mahal in Peshawar to preserve old Qu'ran copies. [19] Along with these auqaf properties developments, Adnan Qadri launched an anti-polio drive on 9 September 2024, aiming to vaccinate 6.425 million children to protect from the polio virus. The first step of the plan was announced to cover 27 districts and deploy 50,000 security officers for safety. [20]
56 small dams were built from March to July 2024 in the province. [21] Several dams were also reported to be in construction by the Irrigation Department. [21] Under Aqibullah and the PTI government, the quick construction and completion of the Warsak Canal Project was stated as a top development priority by Aqibullah for the province. [22]
On 3 August 2024, founder of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan warned ministers in the Gandapur ministry of being held accountable for “corruption and governance issues in their departments.” [23]
Shakeel Khan, who served as the Communication and Works Minister under the Gandapur ministry, has accused his department’s secretary of releasing Rs6.87 billion to contractors without his knowledge or consent. He claimed that the funds were disbursed between May and June 2024, under the supervision of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur. Khan further alleged that the secretary admitted to taking a 10-20% commission on the funds, which included payments of Rs200 million to Gandapur and Rs100 million to influential circles, all on Gandapur’s orders. Additionally, Khan claimed that the secretary offered him a bribe of Rs30 million, later increased to Rs50 million, along with a new car, in exchange for his silence, but he refused and claimed he chose to expose the corruption instead. [24] He later stated that his resignation was due to Gandapur's government backing down from its anti-establishment stance, while the government's accountability panel denotified him on the orders of Imran Khan. [25] In response to the allegations, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) formed a three-member committee to watch over Gandapur’s government. [26]
Shahram Khan Tarakai is a Pakistani politician who was Provincial Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Local Government, Elections and Rural Development, in office from 29 August 2018 till 26 January 2020 and later on Provincial Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education till 14th January 2023 when the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was dissolved by the then Chief Minister on the instructions of Imran Khan. He is currently a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan since February 2024 and had been a member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from August 2018 till January 2023.
Faisal Karim Kundi is a Pakistani politician who is currently serving as the 35th Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in office since 4 May 2024. Previously, he held the position of Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety in federal cabinet under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Junaid Akbar is a Pakistani politician who has been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan since February 2024 from NA-9 Malakand, and previously served in this position from August 2018 till January 2023 and from June 2013 to May 2018. Junaid Akbar is one of the core and top members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. He has luminous services for the party in various capacities including that of Provincial Joint Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur is a Pakistani politician who is currently serving as the 18th Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in office since 2 March 2024. He served as the Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan from 5 October 2018 to 10 April 2022. He had been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from August 2018 till January 2023.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Department of Agriculture (Pashto: د کرنې رياست خیبر پښتونخوا, is charged with administering agricultural programs in the Pakistani province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a mountainous region in the northern part of the country. The department is headed by the Minister of Agriculture who is a member of the Chief Minister's Cabinet.
Aqibullah Khan is a Pakistani politician who is currently serving as the Provincial Minister of Irrigation for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the Gandapur ministry since March 2024. He was a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from August 2013 to May 2018. He is also currently a member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since February 2024 and previously served as an assembly member from October 2018 till January 2023. During his tenure as Provincial Minister of Irrigation for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a rise in small dam projects was reported, with 56 small dams built from March to July 2024 in the province.
Barrister Muhammad Ali Khan Saif is a Pakistani politician from Swabi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, He had been a member of Senate of Pakistan, from March 2015 to March 2021. He served as Federal Minister for Tourism and Youth Affairs from November 2007 to March 2008 in the caretaker federal cabinet of Prime Minister Muhammad Mian Soomro.
Khaliq Ur Rehman Khattak is a Pakistani politician who is an experienced member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa representing the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) from PK-87 Nowshera-III. He is currently serving as Provincial Minister of Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the Gandapur ministry. He hails from Dag Ismail Kheil, Pabbi, Nowshera.
Shakeel Ahmad is a Pakistani politician who was the Provincial Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Revenue, in office from 29 August 2018 till 26 January 2020. He is currently a member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as a member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf since 28 February 2024. Prior to that Shakeel was a member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from 2013 to 2018 and from 2018 to 2023. He has served as the Minister for Public Health Engineering. He also served as Provincial Minister for Communication & Works in the 2024 Gandapur ministry but resigned over controversy in August 2024.
Fazal Hakim Khan is a Pakistani politician hailing from Swat District, who is currently a member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since 2024, and prior to that from August 2018 till January 2023. He also served as member of the 10th Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from 2013 to 2018, belonging to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). He also served as member of the different committees. He is a member of PTI and is currently serving as Provincial Minister of Livestock and Fisheries for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the Gandapur ministry. As minister, he stated that he would prioritize developing the livestock sector.
Mahmood Khan is a Pakistani politician who was the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from August 2018 till January 2023 and a member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). He had been a member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from August 2018 till January 2023, when he, as Chief Minister, dissolved the Assembly. His tenure as Chief Minister saw various healthcare initiatives surrounding the Sehat Insaf Card, where he primarily focused on expanding the card to achieve universal free healthcare.
Arshad Ayub Khan is a Pakistani politician and businessman who is currently Provincial Minister for Local Government, Elections and Rural Development for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the Gandapur ministry. He has been a member Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since his election 28 February 2024. Previously he had been a member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from August 2018 till January 2023.
Muhammad Zahir Shah Toru is a Pakistani politician who is the current Provincial Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Food, in office since 6 March 2024 and has been a Member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since 28 February 2024. Previously, he was a Member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from August 2018 to January 2023.
Pakhtoon Yar Khan is a Pakistani politician from Bannu who is currently serving as Provincial Minister of Public Health Engineering for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the Gandapur ministry. He is a member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and is a member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since 28 February 2024. Prior to this he was a member of the assembly from August 2018 to January 2023. His father, Attaullah Jan, was also a seasoned politician.

Ihtisham Ali is a Pakistani politician from Mardan District. He is currently serving as Advisor to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur for Health. He is also a member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and is a member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since 28 February 2024.
Muhammad Adnan Qadri is a Pakistani politician from Khyber District. He is currently serving as Provincial Minister of Auquf, Hajj and Religious Affairs in the Gandapur ministry. He is also a member of a Sufi family and is currently a member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since 28 February 2024.
Syed Qasim Ali Shah is a Pakistani politician from the Peshawar District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He is currently serving as the Minister for Social Welfare and Women Empowerment of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since September 2024 and notably served as Minister of Health for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since March 2024 until a reshuffle in the Gandapur ministry. He has also been serving as a member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since February 2024 from the seat PK-81 Peshawar-X. He stressed innovation in the provincial healthcare sector upon taking office.
Muhammad Sajjad is a Pakistani politician from Karak District. He is currently serving as Provincial Minister of Agriculture for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) in the Gandapur ministry and is a member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) since February 2024.
