Gandhi Maidan or Gandhi Maidan Marg is one of the most important thoroughfares in Patna, India. It is a historical place and is considered as a landmark of the city. Gandhi Maidan is the main market and commercial area of Patna with Ashok Rajpath which starts from Gandhi Maidan and Dak Bungalow Crossing and Bailey Road besides Frazer Road, Exhibition Road, Boring Road, and Boring Canal Road. [1] There are many important institutes that have developed around the area of Gandhi Maidan.

Landmarks around Gandhi Maidan

The Gandhi Maidan lies in the hub of the city of Patna. There are many places around the sprawling grounds that one can visit. Within a distance of half a kilometer lies the granary of Golghar that was built in 1786 by the British. The Golghar Falls is also located there. The Patna Sahib Gurudwara is 11 km away from Gandhi Maidan. There are many educational institutes that developed in this region. Some of the schools and colleges near Gandhi Maidan are:

Owing to the central location of the grounds, many hotels and office buildings are stationed around it. One of the most important office building is the Biscoman Bhavan which houses offices of the Nalanda Open University and the East Central Railway of Patna.

Nalanda Medical College and Hospital (NMCH) or Govt. Medical college Nalanda is a public medical college based in Patna, India. The institute was established in 1970 and is situated in Kankarbagh and joint hospital is in agamkuan. It had a capacity of 100 students in each batch until 2018. Since 2019 session the intake capacity has been increased to 120 students. Its session intake capacity is now increased from 120 to 150 for the year 2020.It has been proposed to increase it to 250 students per batch in coming years. Fraser Road passes through Dakbangla Chauraha, which is an important crossing in the city. The area around Frazer Road, including New Dak Bangla Road, Exhibition Road, and S P Verma Road has big brands names in marketing and covers all type of shops. Frazer Road is a location for hotels, restaurants, bars, and high-street stores in the capital of the Indian state of Bihar. The area is served by Kotwali PS under Patna Police.

Exhibition Road is one of the most important thoroughfare and Central business district in Patna, Bihar, India. It is a commercial center located in the heart of the city. It connects Gandhi Maidan Marg with the Chiraiyatand Flyover. It runs in parallel to the Frazer Road, east to the New Dak Bungalow.

The Samrat Ashok Convention Centre is a convention centre on North Gandhi Maidan Marg, Patna, Bihar with an estimated budget of 490 crore. The foundation stone of the centre was laid by Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar on 8 February 2014. An expected, around 16,500 metric tonnes of steel is used in construction, which is more than the volume of steel used in raising Eiffel Tower and Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi. The capacity of the main auditorium is around 5000. The Samrat Ashoka Convention centre has three major signature buildings- 1) Bapu Sabahagaar, an auditorium of 5000 seating capacity, 2) Gyan Bhawan with 800 capacity auditorium, multipurpose hall and other conference halls of various capacities; and 3) Sabhyata Dwar. The centre was completed by April 2017 and has Gyan Bhawan, Bapu Sabhagaar, Multipurpose Hall, Plenary Hall, Modular Meeting Rooms with Basement Parking, Sabhyta Park With Sabhyata Dwar & food plaza. In February 2018, Samrat Ashoka Convention Kendra Patna won the 10th CIDC Vishwakarma Achievement Award for best construction projects in India.

Nalanda railway station, station code NLD, is a railway station and under Danapur railway division of East Central Railway. Nalanda is connected to metropolitan areas of India, by the Delhi–Kolkata main line via Mugalsarai–Patna route. Station is located in Nalanda city in Nalanda district in the Indian state of Bihar. Due to its location on the Bakhtiyarpur–Tilaiya main line many Patna and other cities via Express trains coming from Rajgir and Gaya Junction stop here.

Patna Collectorate or Patna district Collector is administrative head office of Collector of Patna district in Patna, Bihar, India. It is on the bank of river Ganges, close to Gandhi Maidan. It is in the style of Dutch architecture and British architecture and is over 200-year-old building complex. In 2008, the Collectorate was listed as heritage building by the Government of Bihar. In 2016, the government proposed its demolition and replacement with a new office complex. The Indian Supreme Court dismissed petitions from the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage, a heritage organisation, to stay the demolition in May 2022, and the complex began to be razed the following day.
