Ashok Rajpath is a road in Patna, the capital of Bihar. [2] It is named after Ashoka, an Indian emperor of the Maurya Dynasty who ruled almost all of the Indian subcontinent from ca. 269 BCE to 232 BCE. [3] It connects Patna with Patna city or Patna Sahib. Starting roughly from Golghar, it run parallel to the river Ganges, and terminates at the Didarganj. It is a busy road owing to the presence of markets on one side and educational institute of Patna University on the other side. [4]

2.2 km-long double-decker flyover is being constructed on Ashok Rajpath. [5] The flyover is starting from Kargil Chowk near Gandhi Maidan to Patna Science College. [6] The four-lane flyover is targeted to be constructed with an expenditure of Rs 422 crore in three years by a Delhi-based firm, Gawar Construction Limited. After the completion of this project, vehicles will move at three levels – tier 2, tier 1 and add-grade level (the existing road). The grade level will remain the same. All the four lanes of tier 1 and tier 2 will have three exits for the PMCH via their multi-level parking before terminating near Patna Science College. The double-decker flyover and the Loknayak Ganga Path (Ganga Expressway) will be connected via Krishna Ghat.

Ashok Rajpath has several historical places either side of it, largely of various institutions such as Patna University including Patna Science College , Patna College and other colleges, PMCH, National Institute of Technology, Patna, Christ Church, Kargil Chowk, Government Polytechnic Patna-7, Takht Shri Harmandir Saheb, Pathar Ki Masjid, Wheeler Senate Hall, St. Joseph's Convent High School, Patna, B N College, Khuda Bakhsh Oriental Library, Golghar, Gandhi Maidan, on the northern side, and old shops and markets, private houses and some religious structures on the southern side of the street. [7] [8] The area is patrolled by the Pirbahore PS of Patna Police. [9]

Jp Ganga Path or Patna Marine Drive is an expressway along the Ganga river in Patna, Bihar, India. It is expected to be completed by the end of 2022. It is being jointly constructed by the Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) and the Government of Bihar.

The 350th Prakash Parv or birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh ji was celebrated in January 2017 in Patna, India. 2017 is the year of the 350th anniversary of the 10th Sikh Guru, a spiritual master, warrior, poet and philosopher. At the date of this anniversary, a number of events was organized on the occasion in Patna marking a grand celebration in their history.

Patna Collegiate School is a Government High School located in Patna, Bihar, India. It was established by officials of East India Company on 10 August 1835 to spread the english pattern of education in Bihar. Its previous name was Patna High School. It was founded at Alan Ganj, Ashok Rajpath, Patna and is the oldest High School in the State of Bihar, India. The school is located at Dariyapur, Patna and is affiliated with the Bihar School Examination Board. The current principal of the school is Dr. Madhuri Dwivedi.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Sabhyata Dwar</span> Triumphal arch in Patna, Bihar

The Sabhyata Dwar or Civilization Gate is a sandstone arch monument located on the banks on River Ganga in the city of Patna in the Indian state of Bihar. The Sabhyata Dwar is built with a Mauryan-style architecture with a purpose to show the ancient glory of Pataliputra and traditions and culture of the state of Bihar. The monument was first envisioned by the former Lieutenant General Srinivas Kumar Sinha. The 32 metres (105 ft) high structure is taller than Gateway of India by 6 metres (20 ft) and was built at a cost of ₹ 5 crore. The monument is spread over an area of one acre within the campus of Samrat Ashok International Convention Centre. The arches of the Dwar contain inscriptions attributed to Megasthenes, Ashoka, Buddha and Mahavira. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated the monument on 21 May 2018.

Bari Path is a road in Patna, the capital of Bihar. It is named after Professor Abdul Bari in 1948 after his death due to Murder in Khusrupur, Patna. Bari House was situated in this road. Mahatma Gandhi came to Bari House on 29 March 1947, one day after Bari death. It connects Gandhi Chowk to Gandhi Maidan, runs Parallel to Ashok Rajpath. It connects with Ashok Rajpath in many points, such as in Ramna Road, Khazanchi Road.
