Shri Gaurav Khanna (born 11 December 1975) is an Indian para-badminton team's head coach. Khanna has been widely recognized as the man behind the rise of para-badminton in the country. Khanna encountered several trials and tribulations during his youth and early life, but his desire propelled him onward, and despite all obstacles, he emerged as a selfless individual driven to make a positive difference in the lives of others. His chronicle of battles that led to him becoming a role model for society is also included in the National Geographic documentary series #One For Change and Samarth Series by Hundai in association with NDTV. He is first Para Sports Coach of the country to be conferred with Padma Shree Award 2024. [9] [10] [11] [12] [13] [14] [15] [16] [17] In 2020, he became the first Para Sports Coach in the country to be honored with Dronacharya Award for his exceptional contribution to para badminton. [18] [19] He is the first Para Coach from UP to have received the highest civilian honor of the state - “Yash Bharti” from CM of UP Government in the field of badminton. [20] [21] [22] [23] [24] [25]
He established the country's first Para Badminton academy namely, Gaurav Khanna Excellia Badminton Academy. [26] [27] The Indian Para Badminton team has won a total of 1021 medals (276 golds, 287 silvers, and 458 bronzes) in BWF-recognized international tournaments since 2015, following his nomination as Head National Coach. These competitions include the Asian Para Games, World Championships, and Tokyo Paralympics. Many of his trainee athletes are among the best in the world and have won the nation's greatest athletic honors.
He has coached Suhas Lalinakere Yathiraj [28] Abu Hubaida, [29] [30] [31] Palak Kohli, [32] Chirag Baretha, [33] and Prem Kumar Ale. [34]

The Gaurav Khanna Excellia Badminton Academy boasts two high-quality mat courts and two wooden courts, providing athletes with the perfect environment to hone their skills and master the game. A fully equipped gym enables athletes to strengthen their bodies and enhance their performance under the guidance of expert trainers. A wellness area, in which Athletes can rejuvenate and recover which includes sauna baths, steam baths, and ice baths, essential for post-training relaxation and muscle recovery. A dedicated physiotherapy room ensures that athletes receive top-notch medical care and rehabilitation services to prevent injuries and optimize their physical well-being.
GKEBA has been awarded with "BEST ACADEMY AWARD" by The Radient Differently Abled Sports Award, 2023. [35] [36] [37] [38]
The GKEBA is dedicated to differently abled athletes, where all categories of athletes, including Polio affected, hearing impaired, accidental injured, injured army personnel in wheelchairs, dwarfs, neuro damaged athletes, and others, not only practice together for free, but also receive education under the dome of Excellia. These athletes stay in Shri Gaurav Khanna's house in Omaxe City, Lucknow. This residence is also known as the "Drona Paralympic House" among para athletes. [39] [40]
Shri Khanna has diverse credentials in Badminton. Other than being an established high-performance coach, Shri Khanna is a Qualified International Umpire and Qualified International Referee of Badminton Asia, having travelled throughout the world to officiate and represent the country in over 100 international sporting events. At several national and international multisport events in India and abroad, Shri Khanna has held positions as Competition Director, Competition Manager, Live Scorer, Match Controller, and Technical Official.
It is commonly acknowledged that Shri Gaurav Khanna is the driving force behind the growth of para badminton in the nation. Shri Khanna, who was born on 11 December 1975, went through many hardships in his early years. However, his passion kept him moving forward, and in spite of all of these setbacks, he became a selfless person who was determined to improve the lives of others. The National Geographic documentary series #One For Change tells his account of the struggles that propelled him to become a social role model. He has made a noteworthy contribution to the promotion of sports among the disabled and their advancement from grassroots to the Deaflympics and Paralympics with his versatile talent and outstanding services as a social worker, professional coach, technical official, organizer, and expert.
Shri Khanna has completed his education from KVS, RDSO, Lucknow, received his B.COM degree (1995), Bachelor of Physical Education degree (1996), Diploma in Yoga (1998) from Lucknow University as well as NIS-Badminton (2010) and Master Trainers in Sports and Games for the Disability (2011) from SAI Bangalore and LNIPE, Gwalior respectively.
Pandit Shivnath Mishra is an Indian sitarist. He is an exponent of the Benares Gharana school of Indian classical music. He was formerly a lecturer and the Head of the Music Department at the Sampurnanand Sanskrit University, Varanasi.
Suhas Lalinakere Yathiraj is an Indian para-badminton player and the World No. 1 in men's singles. He won the silver medals at the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 games thus becoming the only Indian para-badminton player to win back to back medals at the Games.
Manoj Bhawuk is an Indian poet writing in Bhojpuri, actor, television presenter and screenwriter, active in Bhojpuri cinema. He has been awarded by Filmfare & Femina Bhojpuri Icons in the category of ″Outstanding Contribution in Literature″. He has written many awarded books. He promotes Bhojpuri language and literature. Bhawuk has been the Project Head of Zee TV's reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa (Bhojpuri). He is a diploma holder in theatre acting and has acted in TV shows, films and serials. He has been awarded national and international honors. Manoj Bhawuk is the first person who thoroughly researched and documented history of Bhojpuri Cinema and published in various magazines. His book 'Bhojpuri Cinema ke Sansaar' is going to publish in both Hindi & Bhojpuri languages.
Satendra Singh Lohiya is an Indian swimmer with 70% disability. On 24 June 2018 he crossed the English Channel as part of a swimming relay team which, for the first time saw four para swimmers from India cross the English Channel. He completed the channel in 12 hours and 26 minutes, setting a new record. He has been selected for the Tenzing Norgay Adventure Award 2019 for first Indian para swimmer which was given by the Honorable President of India Ram Nath Kovind and The Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi also recognized and appreciated Satendra Singh Lohiya's hard work and blessed him for his future endeavor on 13 March 2020. He received Vikram Award, the highest state-level sports awards in Madhya Pradesh, for swimming from the Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan, MP on 23 December 2014. The Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri for 2024 for his contribution in the field of Sports.

Kisan Chachi was born in a poor Bihari family and due to family poverty she was get married in young age. After her marriage she formed self help groups and with the help of biological farming she gave job for many poor families. Bihar CM Nitish Kumar recognized her and awarded with Kisan Shri.
Rajeshwar Acharya is a Hindustani classical vocalist from Varanasi, India. In 2019, he was conferred the Padma Shri honour by the President of India for his contribution to the field of arts.
Dr Leela Joshi is an Indian gynaecologist and social worker known for her work with tribal women and teenage girls suffering from Anemia in Ratlam district. Nicknamed as the Mother Teresa of the Malwa region, Dr Joshi was conferred Padma Shri in 2020.
Usha Chaumar is a social worker from Alwar, Rajasthan, India. She is the President of Sulabh International Social Service Organisation, the non-profit arm of Sulabh International. In 2020, she received the Padma Shri honour from the Government of India for her contribution in the field of social work, particularly in raising awareness against manual scavenging.

Bhanwar Singh Samaur is an Indian writer, poet, historian, and social worker from Rajasthan. Samaur is the recipient of the Sahitya Akademi Award 2020 for his work Sanskriti ri Sanatana Deeth. His career has spanned more than 50 years including works on history, literature, and poetry in Rajasthani as well as Hindi. Dr. Samaur is a retired Hindi Lecturer from Lohia Postgraduate College, Churu.
Brijeshwar Singh, is a writer, poet and theatre promoter based in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, India. His patronage and promotion of theatre through the Rang Vinayak Rang Mandal theatre repertoire and the annual theatre festival being organized in his own Windermere Theatre earned him the U.P. Sangeet Natak Academy award for 2020. His Daya Drishti Charitable Trust helps children born with thalassemia avail regular and lifesaving transfusions. His second book 'Next Patient, Please' was released on 26 March 2022. He was featured among top 75 personalities of Rohilkhand region of Uttar Pradesh by Amar Ujala. The list was published on the 75th foundation day of the newspaper.
Girdhari Ram Gonjhu was a prominent scholar of the Nagpuri language. He was former chairman of the Tribal-Regional Language Department at Ranchi University in state of Jharkhand. He was awarded Padma Shri for his contribution in the field of literature and education in the Jharkhand posthumously in 2022.

She is the President of the Literary and Cultural Organization Indradhanush and Secretary of the Oriental Research Institute. She has published more than a hundred books, out of which her novel 'Kahe Ri Nalini' was awarded the All India Veersingh Dev Award by Sahitya Academy, Madhya Pradesh. In 2021, she was honoured with the Padma Shri in the field of Hindi literature and education at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi by the Government of India, which is the fourth-highest civilian award of the Republic of India.
Kavi Kag Award is an annual award named after the Gujarati poet Dula Bhaya Kag, given to folk artists, writers, scholars and institutions for contributions to Gujarati folk as well as Charan literature. It was instituted in 2002 with the inspiration and blessings of Morari Bapu. The award is presented every year on the death anniversary of Dula Bhaya Kag, on Kag Chauth, at Kagdham (Majadar), Amreli.
Anup Ranjan Pandey is an Indian traditional Chhattisgarhi folk theatre artist. He received the Padma Shri Award in 2019.
