The third series of Geordie Shore , a British television programme based in Newcastle upon Tyne, began airing on 26 June 2012 on MTV. [1] The series concluded on 28 August 2012 after 8 episodes and 2 specials including a best bits episode and an episode counting down the top 10 moments from the series. [2] This series is also known as Chaos in Cancun as it is the only series to be filmed in Cancún, Mexico, and it is the last series to feature Jay Gardner until his return in series 6 and Rebecca Walker. [3] [4] This series featured Vicky and Ricci's relationship on the rocks before they finally got engaged,[ citation needed ] Holly and James growing closer when James breaks his leg, [5] [6] and more bickering and flirting between Gaz and Charlotte.

The cast arrive in Cancun, Mexico and Cancun Chris, their new boss tells them all to look after the house and not to touch his tequila. Jay announces he has a girlfriend, Holly admits she has feelings for James and gets jealous when he tries to pull on a night out, whilst Charlotte turns Gaz down when he tries it on with her. Sophie, who's back with Joel, gets a shock when she hears another girls on the other end of the phone when she phones him. As Charlotte and Rebecca fail to follow Cancun Chris' instructions, they're kicked out the house. [7]

Sophie's paranoia continues when Joel fails to answer his phone numerous times, and she seeks support with the rest of the group. Holly attempts to get James drunk and into bed but it backfires and she ends up getting too drunk herself and trashes the house. Charlotte and Rebecca return to the house, and Charlotte gets emotional of how well her and Gaz are getting on as friends instead of having sex. Vicky and Ricci clash again over an argument about a spilt drink, and their relationship is in turmoil over Vicky's confession. [8] [9]

The boys go Mexican wrestling but it all ends in disaster when James breaks his leg, and Holly volunteers to look after him for the rest of the holiday, but she has an ulterior motive. Charlotte and Gaz continue to stay away from each other, but Gaz is the first one to give in and makes a move on her. Joel arrives to surprise Sophie but she isn't impressed when he flirts with other girls in front of her. Ricci and Vicky call a truce and make their feelings towards Joel perfectly clear.

Gaz isn't impressed when Charlotte meets up with Andy on his birthday, and is even more upset when he doesn't pull and Charlotte comes back with Andy. Holly and Vicky go to collect a package for Cancun Chris but are stranded when Vicky drains the car battery. After getting drunk, Vicky leaves to calm down. Holly arrives back to the house alone and Ricci goes looking for a missing Vicky. Sophie still has trust issues with Joel when she sees him flirting again, and Holly finally gets what she wants by having sex with James again.

Ricci and Vicky return to the house and are shocked at Holly's confession. Sophie gets emotional as she says goodbye to Joel before he returns home, and she admits that she'd rather be back in England than in Mexico. Cancun Chris isn't happy when Gaz drinks his tequila, so as punishment he sends Charlotte and Gaz on a long trip to go and get another bottle, but after spending a day looking for the specific bottle, they end up losing it on the journey home. James realises that he's in too deep with Holly so ends their brief fling before feelings start to develop.

Jay reveals some home truths to Rebecca causing a rivalry between them, and Gaz and Charlotte clash again in a club. Ricci's not impressed when Vicky throws her bra on stage when Sophie and Holly are doing karaoke, and there's huge arguments between them. Sophie leaves everyone emotional when she reveals she's going home, whereas Ricci announces to Gaz that he'll be proposing to Vicky. On Sophie's last night, Ricci isn't happy when Vicky gets drunk and the pair immediately fall out again, and there's consequences. Sophie returns home to Newcastle. [10]

With Chloe on her way, Jay clears the air with Rebecca to avoid any awkwardness. The group find out that Ricci's still planning to propose to Vicky and Gaz helps him go ring shopping. Meanwhile, Vicky arrives at the house to collect her belongings and tells the girls she's having second thoughts about the relationship. Charlotte accidentally tells Gaz she loves him when they go on a day out together, and Holly and James continue to grow closer. Jay tells Chloe that he'll be leaving Geordie Shore forever but isn't sure how to tell everyone.

Ricci finally proposes to Vicky and she says yes before the pair get a flight back home to Newcastle. Another argument between Gaz and Charlotte erupts and Gaz smashes up the house with anger. James fears that he and Holly will end up like Gaz and Charlotte so ends their brief fling. Jay drops a bombshell on his birthday and tells everyone he will be leaving Geordie Shore for good and everyone gets emotional. Gaz and Charlotte call a final truce and with emotions running high, everyone returns home to Newcastle. [11]

From 23 August 2011 until 30 August 2011, 2 Magaluf specials aired on MTV, however these episodes are featured on the series 2 DVD. The series included the turbulent relationship of Holly with Dan coming to an end, the beginning of Gaz and Charlotte's ongoing love/hate relationship, and Jay and Vicky's rocky relationship. This was the only series to feature Greg Lake.

The series concluded on 18 December 2012 with a double bill after 8 episodes, the series ended on a double bill to avoid the final episode airing on Christmas Day. This was the first series to feature Daniel Thomas-Tuck and Scott Timlin and is the highest rated series to date with 4 episodes receiving over 1,000,000 viewers. The series includes Vicky and Ricci's ongoing arguments continue to the point of the engagement being temporarily called off, James leaving Holly distraught by the announcement of him having a girlfriend, and a huge bust-up between Vicky and Sophie which has the whole house divided.

The series concluded on 16 April 2013 after 8 episodes and a special episode counting down the best bits from the series. This series was filmed in Newcastle upon Tyne with the cast visiting various locations around Europe, including Amsterdam, Barcelona, Prague and Tignes. This was the final series to feature cast members Daniel Thomas-Tuck, and Ricci Guarnaccio, who departed the series following the breakdown of his relationship with Vicky Pattison. Filming began for this series in April 2013 and concluded in May. This series was the first to be filmed in Australia. Former cast member Jay Gardner returned as a guest, who had originally appeared in the show from series one to three. This series focused heavily on Gaz and Scott being isolated from the group after putting getting with girls before the rest of the group, leading to a fight with James, Charlotte feeling homesick and considering leaving the series for her boyfriend Mitch, and a new blossoming romance between Vicky and Dan Conn.

<i>Geordie Shore</i> (series 7) Season of television series

The seventh series of Geordie Shore, a British television programme based in Newcastle upon Tyne, was announced on 5 July 2013 after cast members Holly Hagan and Vicky Pattison had been arrested for assault on a night out during filming. The series began on 17 September 2013, just three weeks after Series 6 had concluded, and finished airing on 22 October 2013 after six episodes. This series had a shorter run that usual due to filming being postponed after the night of the assault. It was reported that filming for the series began on 26 June 2013 as the cast members had all been absent from Twitter since then. This was the last series to feature Sophie Kasaei after she was axed from the series following a racial slur. It was also the first series to feature Sophie's cousin, Marnie Simpson and included the brief return of Jay Gardner, who had previously featured in series one to three, and again during the sixth series for two episodes. Following Vicky's arrest, she was absent from the final half of the series. This series included the cast members taking part in a number of activities on their bucket list, new cast member Marnie isolating herself after breaking up the friendship between Gaz and Scott, and Jay returning to fix the drift between the cast members.

The eighth series of Geordie Shore, a British television programme based in Newcastle upon Tyne was confirmed in October 2013 after cast member Holly Hagan announced it on Twitter and is expected to air 22 July 2014. Filming began for this series on 25 March 2014. This series will be the first not to feature former cast member Sophie Kasaei after she was axed during the seventh series following a racial slur. All other cast members from the previous series return with the addition of new cast member Aaron Chalmers who had briefly appeared during series two of the show as a one-night stand of Holly's. In May 2014, Gaz announced that the series would begin in July. An exclusive first trailer for the series was released during an episode of Ex On The Beach on 3 June 2014. It was revealed on 10 June 2014 that another new cast member had joined, 21-year-old Kyle Christie.

The ninth series of Geordie Shore, a British television programme based in Newcastle upon Tyne, was confirmed on 12 July 2014, and began on 28 October 2014. It was also announced that the cast would travel to Paris and Somerset. All cast members from the previous series returned. Before the series launch, cast member Vicky Pattison announced that this would be her final series. She had appeared in the show since the first series.

Geordie Shore: Big Birthday Battle, a spin-off series of Geordie Shore, a British television programme based in Newcastle upon Tyne was confirmed on 6 February 2016 following cast member Scott's win on Celebrity Big Brother it was announced that he'd be filming for the next series of Geordie Shore the next day. However, on 12 February 2016 it was confirmed that the cast past and present would be reuniting for a mini-series to celebrate five years of the show. The series began airing on 10 May 2016. It features all of the current cast members and the return of former cast members Daniel Thomas-Tuck, James Tindale, Jay Gardner, Kyle Christie, Ricci Guarnaccio and Sophie Kasaei. The only past cast members that did not return for this series were Greg Lake, Rebecca Walker and Vicky Pattison. This series is classified as "Geordie Shore: Big Birthday Battle" and not billed as the thirteenth series. The series also features a new twist with Gaz and Charlotte going head-to-head as team captains planning the best nights out for their team. This series includes a special episode airing on the fifth birthday, on 24 May 2016 featuring the Geordie's reactions of previous episodes. The series also includes the show's 100th episode, airing on 31 May 2016. On 1 June 2016 it was announced that original cast member Charlotte Crosby had quit the show and that this would be her final series.

<i>Geordie Shore</i> (series 17) Season of television series

The seventeenth series of Geordie Shore, a British television programme based in Newcastle Upon Tyne was filmed in February 2018, and began airing from 15 May 2018. It concluded following twelve episodes on 31 July 2018 making this the joint longest series to date. The series was filmed in Australia rather than Newcastle, making this the second series to be filmed here following the sixth series in 2013. Ahead of the series it was announced that former cast member Holly Hagan would be making a return to the show. Six new cast members joined the series, including Grant Molloy, Adam Guthrie and four Australians, Alex MacPherson, Nick Murdoch, Dee Nguyen, and Chrysten Zenoni. Zenoni had previously appeared in the fifth series of Ex on the Beach. The new cast members were to replace Aaron Chalmers and Marnie Simpson, who both announced that they'd quit the show, and Steph Snowdon who was fired after the sixteenth series.

The eighteenth series of Geordie Shore, a British television programme based in Newcastle Upon Tyne was filmed in July 2018 and began airing on 16 October 2018. It concluded after ten episodes on 18 December 2018. This was the first series to include new cast member Faith Mullen. Ahead of the series it was announced that former cast member Scott Timlin would be making a return to the show. After the departures of Holly Hagan, Scott Timlin, Sophie Kasaei from the previous series, it was confirmed that former cast members Abbie Holborn and James Tindale would be returning to the show as their replacements. Filming locations include a trip to the Algarve in Portugal. As well as this, former cast member Adam Guthrie made regular appearances throughout. This series was also the last to feature Sam Gowland and Tahlia Chung.

<i>Geordie Shore: The Reunion Series</i> Season of television series

The twenty-third series of Geordie Shore, a British television programme based in Newcastle upon Tyne was confirmed on 15 February 2022, when Paramount+ introduced their new lineup of unscripted series and renewals for MTV Entertainment Studios, including the show's new spin-off, although they were scheduled to start in late 2020 and 2021 but have been postponed several times due to UK COVID-19 restrictions. Filming locations include a trip to the Algarve in Portugal, Ibiza and Newcastle upon Tyne. The first trailer for the season was released in late August 2022 and premiered later that year on September 20. This was the final series to feature Marty McKenna after he was suspended from MTV. This series appears as "Geordie Shore: The Reunion Series" and not as a spin off of the show. This series brings together the cast members to celebrate Geordie Shore's 10th anniversary.

<i>Geordie Shore</i> (series 24) British television programme

The twenty-fourth series of Geordie Shore, a British television programme based in Newcastle upon Tyne was confirmed on 6 December 2023, and began airing on 9 January 2024. After last season the original cast reunited again in a mansion in Cyprus. Bethan Kershaw, Amelia Lily, Anthony Kennedy and Louis Shan did not return to the show after the previous season.
