The original cast members were: Gary "Gaz" Beadle, Charlotte-Letitia Crosby, Jay Gardner, Holly Hagan, Greg Lake, Sophie Kasaei, Vicky Pattison and James Tindale. [1] Lake made a guest appearance in the opening episode of series 2 where he announced his departure. [2] He was replaced by Ricci Guarnaccio and Rebecca Walker. [3] The third series saw no cast member changes.
After the third series, Gardner and Walker exited the show and auditions were held to find their replacements for the fourth series of Geordie Shore. [4] [5] [6] Daniel Thomas-Tuck and Scott Timlin joined the cast. [7] [8] The fifth series saw no cast member changes.
On 2 April 2013, it was announced that Thomas-Tuck and Guarnaccio had left Geordie Shore and would not be returning for the sixth series. [9] On 9 April 2013 it was confirmed that former cast member Jay Gardner, who featured from series 1–3, would be returning briefly for the sixth series. [10] The sixth series began 9 July 2013. On 12 July 2013 it was announced that Sophie Kasaei had been sacked from the show following an incident which took place in a nightclub where she used a racist term off camera. Sophie will have appeared in the show from series 1–7. [11] On 13 August 2013, it was confirmed that Sophie's cousin, Marnie Simpson had joined the cast for Series 7. [12] [13] On 24 September 2013, it was revealed that Jay Gardner would make another brief return to the series, this time in the seventh series. [14] [15]
On 4 April 2014, it was announced that 26-year-old Aaron Chalmers had joined the cast for the eighth series. He had previously appeared during the second series when he took Holly out for a date. [16] It was then confirmed on 10 June 2014, that Kyle Christie had also joined the cast for the eighth series. He has previously hooked up with Charlotte and Vicky, and is a friend of Marnie's.[ citation needed ] On 28 October 2014, it was revealed that the upcoming ninth series of the show would be Vicky's last series. [17] On 17 November 2014, despite a tenth series already being announced, it was confirmed that this would be James' last series after he would be axed from the show at the end of the series. [18] On 29 November 2014, it was confirmed that Chloe Etherington had joined the cast for the tenth series. [19] It was also confirmed that Nathan Henry had joined the cast for this series. [20]
In 2015, during the eleventh series, Kyle Christie made his final appearance after his turbulent relationship with Holly broke down. In November 2015 it was confirmed that Chantelle Connelly and Marty McKenna had joined the cast for the twelfth series. Marty had previously appeared during the third series of Ex on the Beach . Marnie also left at the end of the eleventh series because of the engagement proposal to former The Only Way Is Essex star Ricky Rayment, however her circumstances changed and rejoined for the twelfth series. In the Big Birthday Battle, former cast mates returned. These were Dan, Jay, James, Ricci, Sophie and Kyle (not in a certain order).
On 1 June 2016, Charlotte Crosby announced that she had quit Geordie Shore meaning that the Big Birthday Battle would be her final series. [21] It was later confirmed that Sophie would replace her as she had expressed her desire to return following the Big Birthday Battle. Chantelle departed the cast during the thirteenth series meaning the series would be her last. Also in the thirteenth series Kyle rejoined following making up with Holly during the Big Birthday Battle series.
It was announced that the thirteenth series trailer in October 2016, meant the cast would be in Magaluf, Ibiza, Kavos and Ayia Napa. [22] During filming series 13, it was cited that Sophie Kasaei had made another comeback since Big Birthday Battle earlier in the year. In December 2016, it was announced that Holly and Kyle would be leaving Geordie Shore together in the thirteenth series finale. [23]
In November 2016, the cast announced via Twitter that filming for the fourteenth series had commenced and Sophie Kasaei had made yet another comeback, however she had permanently rejoined the main cast since her departure in the seventh series.[ citation needed ] Abbie Holborn was selected to become permanent. Season fifteenth featured the departure of Marty McKenna and Scott Timlin after they were both fired from the show, it was also the last season to feature original cast member Gaz Beadle following his decision to resign. Elettra Lamborghini visits the cast while they were in Rome.[ citation needed ]
Series sixteenth featured new cast members Sam Gowland and Stephanie Snowdon. Aaron Chalmers and Marnie Simpson announced their departure, this being their final season. It was later announced that Snowdon was fired. Season seventeen introduced five new cast members: Alex MacPherson, Chrysten Zenoni, Dee Nguyen, Grant Molloy, and Nick Murdoch. Chrysten and Grant then left the season. The new cast member Adam Guthrie has also joined in to replace Grant. Holly Hagan returned as a main member after her last appearance during the thirteenth season. After the seventeenth season, Dee and Nick did not return to the show. Alex also left at the end of the seventeenth season, however, he rejoined the eighteenth season. Faith Mullen joined the cast in the eighteenth season. Scott Timlin returned to the show in the role of boss.
Faith Mullen, Abbie Holborn and Adam Guthrie did not return for the nineteenth season, however the last two appeared on a recurring basis throughout this season. Alex also left the show, however, he returned a second time. Before the series, four new cast members were confirmed, Beau Brennan, Bethan Kershaw, Natalie Phillips, and Tahlia Chung. That season featured the latest appearances from Scott Timlin and Alex MacPherson, and original cast members Sophie Kasaei and Holly Hagan.
In the twentieth season it was confirmed that former cast members Abbie Holborn and James Tindale returned. [24] Sam Gowland and Tahlia Chung left the show after that season. For the twenty-first season, new cast members Amelia Lily, Anthony Kennedy, and Louis Shaw joined the cast. Nathalie Phillips left the program. Beau Brennan did not return to the show after the twenty-first season. The twenty-second season switched to a dating format and featured a group of rookies acting as dates for the cast members, Marty McKenna returned to the show after being fired in the fifteenth season. The twenty-third reunion season saw the return of original cast members Charlotte Crosby, Holly Hagan, Sophie Kasaei, James Tindale, and Jay Gardner, and Greg Lake made a brief appearance. Veterans Ricci Guarnaccio, Scott Timlin, Marnie Simpson, Kyle Christie, and Aaron Chalmers also returned, in addition to Zahida Allen and Chantelle Connelly, this on the occasion of the majority of the show's overall cast meeting for the tenth anniversary of the program. [26]
After the reunion series, Marty McKenna was fired from the show. [27] Zahida Allen, Amelia Lily, Anthony Kennedy and Louis Shaw left the show after that season. In series twenty-four, the majority of the cast was largely made up of those who returned during the previous series. While Sam Gowland made a brief appearance.
Season twenty-five featured the same cast from the last two seasons. Charlotte Crosby announced her departure from the show last season. [28] Scott Timlin returned to the show since his last appearance in season 22. [29]
Geordie Shore is a British reality television series that has been broadcast on MTV from 24 May 2011. Based in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, it was the British offshoot of the American show Jersey Shore. The programme follows the daily lives of 8–12 housemates, as they live together for a number of weeks. In the first series, the house was located in Jesmond, a suburb of Newcastle. Since the second series, the show has used a house in the Oceana Business Park in Wallsend.
The first series of Geordie Shore, a British television programme based in Newcastle upon Tyne, began airing on 24 May 2011 on MTV. The series concluded on 12 July 2011 after 6 episodes and 2 specials including a reunion show hosted by Russell Kane and an episode counting down the best bits of the series. From 23 August 2011 until 30 August 2011, 2 Magaluf specials aired on MTV, however these episodes are featured on the series 2 DVD. The series included the turbulent relationship of Holly with Dan coming to an end, the beginning of Gaz and Charlotte's ongoing love/hate relationship, and Jay and Vicky's rocky relationship. This was the only series to feature Greg Lake.
The second series of Geordie Shore, a British television programme based in Newcastle upon Tyne, began airing on 31 January 2012 on MTV. The series concluded on 3 April 2012 after 8 episodes and 2 specials including a reunion show presented by Russell Kane and an episode counting down the best bits of the series. This was the first series to feature Rebecca Walker and Ricci Guarnaccio. The series featured Sophie and Joel's rocky relationship coming to an end, Vicky being torn between her boyfriend Dan and new cast member Ricci, Charlotte admitting she's finally had enough of seeing Gaz with other girls, and the beginning of Holly and James.
The third series of Geordie Shore, a British television programme based in Newcastle upon Tyne, began airing on 26 June 2012 on MTV. The series concluded on 28 August 2012 after 8 episodes and 2 specials including a best bits episode and an episode counting down the top 10 moments from the series. This series is also known as Chaos in Cancun as it is the only series to be filmed in Cancún, Mexico, and it is the last series to feature Jay Gardner until his return in series 6 and Rebecca Walker. This series featured Vicky and Ricci's relationship on the rocks before they finally got engaged, Holly and James growing closer when James breaks his leg, and more bickering and flirting between Gaz and Charlotte.
The fourth series of Geordie Shore, a British television programme based in Newcastle upon Tyne, began airing on 6 November 2012 on MTV. The series concluded on 18 December 2012 with a double bill after 8 episodes, the series ended on a double bill to avoid the final episode airing on Christmas Day. This was the first series to feature Daniel Thomas-Tuck and Scott Timlin and is the highest rated series to date with 4 episodes receiving over 1,000,000 viewers. The series includes Vicky and Ricci's ongoing arguments continue to the point of the engagement being temporarily called off, James leaving Holly distraught by the announcement of him having a girlfriend, and a huge bust-up between Vicky and Sophie which has the whole house divided.
The sixth series of Geordie Shore, a British television programme based in Newcastle upon Tyne, began airing on 9 July 2013, and concluded after 8 episodes concluding on 27 August 2013. Filming began for this series in April 2013 and concluded in May. This series was the first to be filmed in Australia. Former cast member Jay Gardner returned as a guest, who had originally appeared in the show from series one to three. This series focused heavily on Gaz and Scott being isolated from the group after putting getting with girls before the rest of the group, leading to a fight with James, Charlotte feeling homesick and considering leaving the series for her boyfriend Mitch, and a new blossoming romance between Vicky and Dan Conn.
The seventh series of Geordie Shore, a British television programme based in Newcastle upon Tyne, was announced on 5 July 2013 after cast members Holly Hagan and Vicky Pattison had been arrested for assault on a night out during filming. The series began on 17 September 2013, just three weeks after Series 6 had concluded, and finished airing on 22 October 2013 after six episodes. This series had a shorter run that usual due to filming being postponed after the night of the assault. It was reported that filming for the series began on 26 June 2013 as the cast members had all been absent from Twitter since then. This was the last series to feature Sophie Kasaei after she was axed from the series following a racial slur. It was also the first series to feature Sophie's cousin, Marnie Simpson and included the brief return of Jay Gardner, who had previously featured in series one to three, and again during the sixth series for two episodes. Following Vicky's arrest, she was absent from the final half of the series. This series included the cast members taking part in a number of activities on their bucket list, new cast member Marnie isolating herself after breaking up the friendship between Gaz and Scott, and Jay returning to fix the drift between the cast members.
The eighth series of Geordie Shore, a British television programme based in Newcastle upon Tyne was confirmed in October 2013 after cast member Holly Hagan announced it on Twitter and is expected to air 22 July 2014. Filming began for this series on 25 March 2014. This series will be the first not to feature former cast member Sophie Kasaei after she was axed during the seventh series following a racial slur. All other cast members from the previous series return with the addition of new cast member Aaron Chalmers who had briefly appeared during series two of the show as a one-night stand of Holly's. In May 2014, Gaz announced that the series would begin in July. An exclusive first trailer for the series was released during an episode of Ex On The Beach on 3 June 2014. It was revealed on 10 June 2014 that another new cast member had joined, 21-year-old Kyle Christie.
The ninth series of Geordie Shore, a British television programme based in Newcastle upon Tyne, was confirmed on 12 July 2014, and began on 28 October 2014. It was also announced that the cast would travel to Paris and Somerset. All cast members from the previous series returned. Before the series launch, cast member Vicky Pattison announced that this would be her final series. She had appeared in the show since the first series.
The tenth series of Geordie Shore, a British television programme based in Newcastle upon Tyne was confirmed on 1 November 2014, and began airing on 7 April 2015. This will be the first series not to include original cast member Vicky Pattison after she departed at the end of the previous series. Ahead of the series it was confirmed that new cast members Chloe Ferry and Nathan Henry had joined the show.
The eleventh series of Geordie Shore, a British television programme based in Newcastle upon Tyne was confirmed on 23 May 2015 when it was confirmed that MTV had renewed the series for a further three series. The show began on 20 October 2015. This is the first series not to include original cast member James Tindale after he departed at the beginning of the previous series. Ahead of the series it was confirmed that the series would be filmed in Greece. In September 2015 when the series premiere was announced, it was confirmed that the cast members would air for 10 episodes, making it the longest series to date. It was also confirmed that the cast had travelled to Zante, Malia, Mykonos, Ios as well as Athens for the series.
The twelfth series of Geordie Shore, a British television programme based in Newcastle upon Tyne was confirmed on 23 May 2015 when it was confirmed that MTV had renewed the series for a further three series taking it up to the thirteenth series. The series was filmed in October and November 2015 and began airing on 15 March 2016. This was the first series not to include Kyle Christie since he made his exit during the previous series, and was the first to feature new cast members Chantelle Connelly and Marty McKenna, who had previously appeared during the third series of Ex on the Beach.
The thirteenth series of Geordie Shore, a British television programme based in Newcastle upon Tyne was confirmed on 23 May 2015 when it was confirmed that MTV had renewed the series for a further three series taking it up to the thirteenth series, and began on 25 October 2016. The series was filmed in June and July 2016 and concluded on 20 December 2016. This was the first series not to include Charlotte Crosby since she made her exit during the previous series. It also features the return of former cast members Sophie Kasaei and Kyle Christie who previously made a brief return during the Big Birthday Battle anniversary series, and is the last to feature Chantelle Connelly after it was revealed she quit the show mid-series. This series was filmed in various party resort towns in island destinations, including Ayia Napa, Corfu, Kavos, Ibiza and Magaluf. It was also later announced that this would be Holly Hagan's last series after she quit in the series finale, along with Kyle Christie.
The fourteenth series of Geordie Shore, a British television programme based in Newcastle upon Tyne, was confirmed on 31 October 2016 when cast member Scotty T announced that he would be taking a break from the series to focus on other commitments. The series was filmed in November 2016, and began airing on 28 March 2017. Ahead of the series, it was also confirmed that original cast member Holly Hagan had quit the show, following her exit in the previous series. On 28 February 2017, it was announced that eight new cast members had joined for this series. Zahida Allen, Chelsea Barber, Sam Bentham, Sarah Goodhart, Abbie Holborn, Elettra Lamborghini, Billy Phillips and Eve Shannon all appeared throughout the series hoping to become permanent members of the cast, and in the series finale, Holborn was chosen. Goodhart and Allen both previously appeared on Ex on the Beach, with the former appearing on the third series of the show as the ex-girlfriend of current Geordie Shore cast member Marty McKenna. Lamborghini has also appeared on Super Shore and participated in the fifth season of Gran Hermano VIP, the Spanish version of Celebrity Big Brother. It was also confirmed that Scotty T would return later in the series.
The fifteenth series of Geordie Shore, a British television programme based in Newcastle upon Tyne, was confirmed on 8 August 2017 when a teaser video was released. The series began on 29 August 2017, and concluded after nine episodes on 17 October 2017. This was the final series to include Scotty T and Marty McKenna after they were both axed from the show, as well as original cast member Gaz Beadle following his decision to quit. The series also featured the brief return of Elettra Lamborghini, when the cast jetted off to Rome. The series included further twists in Aaron and Marnie's turbulent relationship, a newly single Gaz getting cosy with Abbie, as well as Chloe and Nathan's friendship facing its biggest strain to date. It also features the group visiting Rome, and Aaron taking part in his debut MMA fight in Birmingham.
The eighteenth series of Geordie Shore, a British television programme based in Newcastle Upon Tyne was filmed in July 2018 and began airing on 16 October 2018. It concluded after ten episodes on 18 December 2018. This was the first series to include new cast member Faith Mullen. Ahead of the series it was announced that former cast member Scott Timlin would be making a return to the show. It was also announced that former cast members James Tindale, Kyle Christie and Alex MacPherson would all be making guest appearances throughout the series.
The nineteenth series of Geordie Shore, a British television programme based in Newcastle Upon Tyne began airing on 9 April 2019. It concluded after ten episodes on 11 June 2019. Ahead of the series it was confirmed that four new cast had joined; Beau Brennan, Tahlia Chung, Bethan Kershaw and Natalie Phillips. They replaced former cast member Faith Mullen who did not return to the show.
