Shandon Rodriguez Anderson is an American former professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) from 1996 to 2006. Growing up in Atlanta, Anderson attended the University of Georgia and played for four teams during his ten-year NBA career after being drafted by the Utah Jazz in 1996: the Jazz, Houston Rockets, New York Knicks, and Miami Heat. He played the shooting guard and small forward positions.

The Georgia Bulldogs are the athletic teams that represent the University of Georgia. The Bulldogs compete in NCAA Division I and are members of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The Georgia Gwizzlies is a basketball team that currently plays in the American Basketball Association. They once played in various men's minor leagues: the Continental Basketball League (CBL), the American National Basketball League, and their original stint in the American Basketball Association. The Georgia Gwizzlies moved from Gwinnett County to Macon in Central Georgia, but upon joining the CBL, moved back to the Greater Atlanta area. Home games will be played in Cobb County, Georgia. Gwizzlies players have been invited to tour France and Spain in early fall each year. Embry Malone begins his six-year as GM and head coach and his two older brothers, Alvin and Bennie Malone are co-owners of the pro basketball organization.
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets men's basketball team represents the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in NCAA Division I basketball. The team plays its home games in McCamish Pavilion on the school's Atlanta campus and is currently coached by Damon Stoudamire. Bobby Cremins led his team to the first ACC tournament victory in school history in 1985 and in 1990 he took Georgia Tech to the school's first Final Four appearance ever. Cremins retired from Georgia Tech in 2000 with the school's best winning percentage as a head coach. The Yellow Jackets returned to the Final Four in 2004 under Paul Hewitt and lost in the national title game, losing to UConn. Overall, the team has won 1,352 games and lost 1,226 games, a .524 win percentage.
Robert A. Lanier is an American college basketball coach for the SMU Mustangs. He previously served as the head coach at Georgia State from 2019 to 2022 and Siena from 2001 to 2005.
