Get a Guitar is the debut single album by South Korean boy group Riize. Released on September 4, 2023, by SM Entertainment through Kakao Entertainment, the single album consists of two tracks, "Memories" and the title track of the same name, which both were released to promote the single album on August 21 and September 4, respectively.
SM Entertainment announced in May 2023 that they will debut their new boy group, seven years after the debut of NCT, with the announcement that former NCT members Shotaro and Sungchan would withdraw from the group to join the lineup and SM Rookies members Eunseok and Seunghan would make their debut. On August 7, SM announced that Riize will making their debut with their first single album, Get a Guitar, which is slated for release on September 4, 2023. The single album will contain a total of 2 songs, with "Memories" was released as the pre-release single on August 21, and the title track was released on the same date as the album. [7] [8] [9]
The pre-release single, "Memories", is a song with synthesizer and guitar sounds, and lyrics about cherishing the memories of preparing and practicing together while dreaming the same dream. [10] "Get a Guitar", the album's title track and the group's official debut single, is a song with retro synths and funky guitar rhythm, with the lyrics that show the process of understanding and empathizing with each other and becoming a team through music, and at the same time, the members gathered in one place according to the sound of the guitar, while conveying the message that they will realize their shining dreams. Riize began the promotional cycle for Get a Guitar by attending the KCON 2023 in Los Angeles on August 20, 2023, where they performed "Memories" and the group's introduction performance "Siren". [12] The group also performed "Memories" and "Siren" on national television for the first time at SBS's Inkigayo on August 27, 2023, a week prior their official debut. [13]

Carmen Chin of NME wrote that the EP's "expectations were high – and they were successfully met", and she added that the group "have successfully highlighted their ability to craft a distinctive sound and establish themselves as emerging talents worth keeping an eye on". [14]
Prior to its release on September 4, 2023, it was reported that Get a Guitar received 1.03 million pre-order sales, setting a new record as the most pre-ordered debut album out of any SM artist, and made Riize the first SM artist since H.O.T. in 1996 to have sold over a million copies with their debut album. NCT is a South Korean boy band formed and managed by SM Entertainment. Introduced in January 2016, the group currently consists of 26 members divided into six different sub-units: NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream, WayV, NCT DoJaeJung, and NCT Wish. They are known for their versatility in music, vocal and rap abilities, and powerful performances, and have been cited as K-pop's "most experimental boy band" due to their concept of having limitless members. As of June 2024, NCT has recorded more than 40 million album sales only in Korea across all sub-units, making them the best-selling act under SM Entertainment and one of the best-selling K-pop artists of all time.
SM Rookies is a pre-debut training team created by South Korean entertainment agency SM Entertainment in 2013, composed of trainees who have yet to join an idol group. From 2013 to 2023, the team officially introduced 35 members, of which 29 debuted under SM Entertainment in different groups: Red Velvet (4), NCT and five of its subunits (20), Aespa (1), Riize (2), soloist and former NCT member Lucas and Lami as an actress.

"2 Baddies" is a song recorded by South Korean boy band NCT 127. It was released as the lead single from their fourth studio album of the same name on September 16, 2022, by SM Entertainment. It was written by Sokodomo, Haeil, and Xinsayne, while production was handled by Aron Bergerwall, Louise Lindberg, Tony Ferrari, Parker James, Cazzi Opeia, Ellen Berg, and IMLAY. Stamp on It is the first extended play by South Korean supergroup Got the Beat. It was released by SM Entertainment on January 16, 2023, and contains six tracks, including the lead single of the same name.
NCT Wish is a Japanese boy band and the final sub-unit of the South Korean boy band NCT, formed and managed by SM Entertainment and Avex Trax with SM director and soloist BoA, in charge as the producer. The group consists of six members: Sion, Riku, Yushi, Jaehee, Ryo, Sakuya. They released the single "Hands Up" on October 8, 2023, ahead of their scheduled debut in 2024. The group officially debuted on February 21, 2024, with their eponymous single in South Korea and Japan simultaneously.
Perfume is the debut extended play (EP) by the South Korean boy band NCT DoJaeJung. It was released on April 17, 2023, by SM Entertainment, alongside its lead single of the same name. It is NCT DoJaeJung's first release, following initial participation as members of NCT and its sub-unit NCT 127.
