Gennaro "Gino" Sheffield D'Acampo (born 17 July 1976) is an Italian celebrity chef, television personality, and businessman based in the United Kingdom.
Born Gennaro D’Acampo, he legally adopted “Sheffield” as his middle name in 2011 following a stunt on the ITV panel show Celebrity Juice . [2]
He rose to fame as a regular chef on ITV’s This Morning and went on to win the ninth series of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! in 2009. He later presented several cookery shows, including Gino's Italian Escape (2013–2021), and co-starred with Gordon Ramsay and Fred Sirieix in the popular travel and food series Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip (2018–2023).
D’Acampo has also launched multiple restaurant ventures in the UK under the brands My Pasta Bar and My Restaurant. In 2025, following a temporary pause in ITV projects, he announced new television work including the travelogue An Italian in Malta and his involvement in the cookery competition pilot Spaghetti Wars.
Since 2009, D'Acampo has been a regular chef on the ITV show This Morning . He has presented various cookery programmes including There's No Taste Like Home (2011), Let's Do Lunch (2011–2014), and Gino's Italian Escape (2013–2020). In June 2020, it was announced that D'Acampo would be the presenter of the new revival series of Family Fortunes on ITV, 18 years after the last series. [3]
In 1995, aged 19, D'Acampo moved to London to work in The Orchard Restaurant, Hampstead, and the Cambio Restaurant in Guildford, Surrey.
D'Acampo co-owns Bontà Italia Ltd, a supplier of Italian ingredients, and has worked in the development of ready meals, beginning with the Tesco Finest range. [4] This experience led to his first engagement as a guest on Great Food Live on UKTV Food and the start of his television career.
In 2009, D'Acampo was crowned King of the Jungle in the ninth series of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! . [5] After the show, D'Acampo and fellow contestant Stuart Manning were charged by the Australian Federal Police with animal cruelty for killing and cooking a rat on the show. The charges were later dropped after ITV accepted responsibility for the incident. [6]
D'Acampo has regularly appeared on the ITV series This Morning. He launched his first iPhone app, Gino D'Acampo – Eating Italian, in 2010. [7]
From 2011 until 2014, D'Acampo and Melanie Sykes presented the daytime cookery programme Let's Do Lunch with Gino & Mel. [8] The show aired for four series and three Christmas specials. D'Acampo also hosted a Sunday afternoon cookery and discussion show on LBC 97.3. In 2011, he presented the daytime cookery series There's No Taste Like Home for thirty episodes. [9]
In 2013, D'Acampo launched a chain of restaurants with his name followed by My Pasta Bar or My Restaurant. [10] His first pasta bar opened on Fleet Street in July 2013. Additional restaurants followed in Leadenhall Market, Bishopsgate, Euston railway station, [11] Manchester Corn Exchange, [12] Harrogate, and Camden Town. [13]
From 2013 to 2021, D'Acampo presented seven series of Gino's Italian Escape on ITV, each accompanied by a cookery book. [14] [15]
From 2018, D'Acampo co-starred with Gordon Ramsay and Fred Sirieix in the ITV series Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip . The travel and food show followed the trio on journeys across Europe and the United States. It became one of D'Acampo's most successful television projects, running for four series and multiple specials until 2023. [16] [17]
In autumn 2014, D'Acampo filled in as a team captain for Holly Willoughby on the ITV2 panel show Celebrity Juice , later returning as a regular panellist and team captain.
In 2015 and 2017, he toured the UK with a live stage show based on Gino's Italian Escape, visiting cities including Bath, Newcastle and Margate. [18]
In May 2018, it was confirmed that Channel 5 had picked up Win Your Wish List for its Saturday night schedule, with D'Acampo as host. The show was retitled Gino's Win Your Wish List . [19]
In 2025, following a temporary pause in his ITV projects, D'Acampo announced new television work including the travel series An Italian in Malta, and was linked to the competitive cookery pilot Spaghetti Wars. [20] [21]
D'Acampo lives with his wife Jessica Stellina Morrison, whom he married in 2002. [24] He has three children. [25]
In 1998, D'Acampo was convicted of burgling singer Paul Young's London home, and served two years in prison. D'Acampo has apologised to Young, who accepted and suggested that D'Acampo could invite him to dinner in his restaurant. [26]
D'Acampo is a fan of the rugby union team Leicester Tigers. [27]
In February 2025, ITV News reported that several people who had worked with D'Acampo over a 12-year period alleged inappropriate and intimidating behaviour. D'Acampo "firmly denied" the claims, calling them "deeply upsetting". [28] He was not charged with any offence, and ITV initially removed his upcoming programmes from the schedule. [29]
Subsequently, D'Acampo announced *An Italian in Malta*, a travel series expected in late 2025, marking a return to television projects. [30] Also, a pilot episode of *Spaghetti Wars*, a competitive cooking show, has been screened. [31]
