Glenn A. Cummings was a Democratic member of the Maine House of Representatives,representing the state's 115th district. He served from 2000 to 2008,including one term as the Speaker of the House,and was termed out of office in 2008. In 2000,when he first ran for the District 115 seat,Cummings became the first candidate in Maine history to qualify for public financing under Maine's new "Clean Elections" law. In 2009,Cummings was appointed deputy assistant secretary for the Office of Vocational &Adult Education. Cummings worked for the Goodwill Hinckley School in Fairfield,Maine as president and executive director. [1] [2]
On September 2,2014,University of Maine System Chancellor James H. Page announced Cummings' appointment as interim president of the University of Maine at Augusta,succeeding Allyson Hughes Handley,Ed.D. [3]
On May 21,2015,Page announced Cummings would become the 13th president of the University of Southern Maine,effective July 1,2015. [4]
On October 5,2021,Cummings announced he would be stepping down as president on June 30,2022. He will remain at the university as faculty. [5]

The University of Southern Maine (USM) is a public university with campuses in Portland,Gorham and Lewiston in the U.S. state of Maine. It is the southernmost of the University of Maine System. It was founded as two separate state universities,Gorham Normal School and Portland University. The two universities,later known as Gorham State College and the University of Maine at Portland,were combined in 1970 to help streamline the public university system in Maine and eventually expanded by adding the Lewiston campus in 1988.

In 2012,he sought to become his party's nominee to replace retiring Olympia Snowe,but lost in the primary to State Senator Cynthia Dill. Prior to his first election as secretary of state in 2005,he represented Old Town in the Maine House of Representatives for four terms beginning in 1996. On December 2,2020,Dunlap was elected Maine State Auditor by the Maine Legislature and took office on January 4,2021. Dunlap had to vacate the position after failing the exams needed to meet the requirements of the position the following October,and was replaced by Jacob Norton. He did later meet the requirements and was selected for the position again on November 14,2022.

In 2020,the Riverton elementary school in Portland was renamed the Gerald Edgerton Talbot Community School.

Christopher G. Hall is an English-American politician and academic. Hall was the president of the American University in Kosovo and a former state senator from Maine. Hall's background is as a steel and mining executive,but after growing weary of long commutes from Portland,Maine,to New York City,he sought a career change. In 2002,Hall was elected as a Democratic senator in midcoast Maine in a disputed election in which he narrowly defeated Republican Leslie Fossel. He failed to win reelection in 2004,and in 2007 accepted the appointment to lead the American University in Kosovo. In May 2014,Hall was appointed president of International Horizons College in Dubai by its board of trustees.
Glenn "Chip" Curry is an American Democratic politician and youth advocate currently serving as the Maine State Senator for District 11. He has represented Waldo County in the State Senate since 2020 and is the student services coordinator at the University of Maine at Augusta (UMA)'s Rockland center. Curry earned an MS in College Student Personnel Services from Miami University in 1994 and worked in student services at Unity College and the University of Southern Maine (USM)'s Muskie School of Public Service before joining UMA.
