The 13th Annual Gotham Independent Film Awards, presented by the Independent Filmmaker Project, were held on September 22, 2003. [1] [2] [3] The ceremony was hosted by Michael Ian Black. [4] It was the first Gotham Awards ceremony where the individual awards such as the Filmmaker Award were replaced with Career Tributes resulting in several Tributes each year instead of one. [5] [6]

The Independent Filmmaker Project (IFP) is the name for a series of membership-based, not-for-profit organizations that produce programs that assist independent filmmakers in connecting with film-industry professionals and, ultimately, audiences.

Michael Ian Black American comedian, actor, writer, and director

Michael Ian Black is an American comedian, actor, writer, and director. He has starred in several TV comedy series, including The State, Viva Variety, Stella, Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp, Michael & Michael Have Issues, and Another Period. He also appeared on Celebrity Poker Showdown several times. He released his first children's book, Chicken Cheeks, in 2009, and has since released six more, in addition to four books for adults.

Gotham Awards award

The Gotham Independent Film Awards are American film awards, presented annually to the makers of independent films at a ceremony in New York City, the city first nicknamed "Gotham" by native son Washington Irving, in an issue of Salmagundi, published on November 11, 1807. Part of the Independent Filmmaker Project (IFP), "the largest membership organization in the United States dedicated to independent film", the awards were inaugurated in 1991 as a means of showcasing and honoring films made primarily in the northeastern region of the United States.

Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini are an American team of filmmakers who received critical acclaim and an Academy Award nomination for their 2003 film American Splendor. In 2010, The Extra Man premiered at the Sundance festival. The Emmy-winning Cinema Verite, a 2011 HBO Drama film directed by Berman and Pulcini, premiered on April 23, 2011.

He has starred in films such as Parting Glances, New York Stories, Mystery Train, Reservoir Dogs, Desperado, Con Air, Armageddon, The Grey Zone, Ghost World, Big Fish, and The Death of Stalin. He is also known for his supporting roles in the Coen brothers films Miller's Crossing, Barton Fink, The Hudsucker Proxy, Fargo and The Big Lebowski. He provides the voice of Randall Boggs in the Monsters, Inc. franchise and Wayne the Werewolf in the Hotel Transylvania film series.

Glenn Close American actress

David Linde is the CEO of Participant, a position to which he was appointed in October 2015. Previously he served as CEO of Lava Bear Films which he founded in 2011 as a film production and financing company developing projects specifically designed for the global marketplace.
