The 34th Annual Gotham Awards, presented by the Gotham Film & Media Institute, were held on December 2, 2024. [1] [2] [3] The nominees were announced on October 29, 2024. [4] [5] [6] [7]
Angelina Jolie, Denis Villeneuve, Timothée Chalamet, James Mangold, Zendaya, the cast of the film The Piano Lesson , Franklin Leonard and his company The Black List, and the cast of the film Sing Sing received tribute awards. [8] [9] [10] [11] [12]
Compared to the previous year, this ceremony will include two additional competitive categories: An award for Best Director will be given out for the first time while the award for Breakthrough Performer, which had already been presented between 1998 and 2022, will be returning. Additionally, with the creation of the separate Gotham TV Awards in 2024, the Gotham Awards will exclusively include film awards; all TV award categories, which were presented at the Gotham Awards until last year's ceremony, are given out at the Gotham TV Awards going forward. Paul Atreides is a fictional character in the Dune universe created by Frank Herbert. He is a main character in the first two novels in the series, Dune (1965) and Dune Messiah (1969), and returns in Children of Dune (1976). The character is brought back as two different gholas in the Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson novels which conclude the original series, Hunters of Dune (2006) and Sandworms of Dune (2007), and appears in the prequels Paul of Dune (2008) and The Winds of Dune (2009). According to Brian Herbert, Frank Herbert's son and biographer, House Atreides was based on the heroic but ill-fated Greek mythological house of Atreus.

A Complete Unknown (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is the soundtrack album to the Bob Dylan biographical film of the same name. The album consists primarily of songs written by Dylan himself and performed by Timothée Chalamet, who portrays Dylan in the film. Supporting cast members Monica Barbaro, Edward Norton, and Boyd Holbrook also perform additional songs as Joan Baez, Pete Seeger, and Johnny Cash, respectively. The album was produced by the film's director, James Mangold, alongside Nick Baxter, with additional production from Steven Gizicki.
