Green Templeton Boat Club (commonly abbreviated to GTBC ) is a rowing club for members of Green Templeton College, Oxford. It is based in the Longbridges boathouse on the Isis, which is co-owned by the college and shared with Hertford, St Hilda's, St Catz and Mansfield. [1] The club was established in 2008, after Green and Templeton colleges merged to form Green Templeton College, Oxford.

History

Green Templeton Boat Club was established in 2008 after Green and Templeton Colleges merged. Before this, Templeton College had a close affiliation with Hertford College Boat Club, while Green College was associated with Osler House.

The College part-owns Longbridges Boathouse on the River Thames (locally referred to as The Isis).

GTBC currently owns a fleet - four Eights, two Fours, Double and Single Sculls - which are kept in the large and small boats bays at Longbridges.

Green Templeton College, Oxford College of the University of Oxford

Green Templeton College (GTC) is a constituent college of the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. The college is located on the previous Green College site on Woodstock Road next to the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter in North Oxford and is centred on the architecturally important Radcliffe Observatory, an 18th-century building, modelled on the ancient Tower of the Winds at Athens. It is the university's second newest graduate college, after Reuben College, having been founded by the historic merger of Green College and Templeton College in 2008.

Mansfield College Boat Club

Mansfield College Boat Club (MCBC) is a rowing club for members of Mansfield College, Oxford. It was founded in 1965 by a group of students led by Michael Mahony, later College Dean. It is run by the Boat Club committee, which is elected annually by members of the Mansfield College student body. It is affiliated to Oxford University Rowing Clubs (OURCs).

University College Boat Club (Oxford)

University College Boat Club is the rowing club for all members of University College, Oxford ("Univ"). UCBC has had a recent run of successes, notably in the Women's divisions with the Women's 1st VIII winning Blades in Summer Eights 2015 to leave them fourth on the river, and the 2nd VIII winning Blades in Summer Eights 2014 and again in Summer Eights 2018. The men's side is also highly successful and is currently eighth on the river in Summer Eights, with three crews in fixed divisions.

University College Boathouse is the boathouse of University College Boat Club (UCBC) on the southern bank of the River Thames in Oxford, England. It is owned by University College, Oxford. UCBC's Boathouse has become an iconic and very recognisable architectural statement in and around Oxford. The boathouse is shared with Wolfson, St Peter's and Somerville College boat clubs.

Merton College Boat Club (MCBC) is a rowing club for members of Merton College, Oxford. It was established in 1838 and competes every year in Torpids and Summer Eights, the intercollegiate bumps races at the University of Oxford, as well as external regattas.

Somerville College Boat Club

Somerville College Boat Club (SCBC) is the rowing club of Somerville College, Oxford. The club was formed in 1921 as one of the first women's clubs on the Isis, however was unable to compete in bumps until 1969. The women's team has won the title Head of the River eight times in Summer Eights and five times in Torpids, more than any other women's rowing team from the University of Oxford.
