Greg Crump (born ) is an Australian wheelchair tennis coach. He was selected to coach Australia at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in the wheelchair tennis.

Wheelchair tennis

Crump began coaching wheelchair tennis in the late 1980s. One of the first competitors he coached was Daniela Di Toro, who took up the sport when she was thirteen years old at Crump's suggestion. [1] He was the coach of the Australian national team in 2008. [1] At the 2008 Summer Paralympics, he coached Daniela Di Toro. [1] He was the coach of the Australian national team in 2009. [2] He encouraged Australian wheelchair basketball player Melanie Hall to make the switch from that sport to wheelchair tennis following the 2008 Summer Paralympics. [2] He was the coach of the Australian national team in 2010. [3] [4] Players he worked with in 2010 included Henry De Cure, Keegan Oh-Chee, Stephan Rochecouste and Anderson Parker. [4] In August 2010, he ran a wheelchair tennis coaching clinic in Vanuatu. It was the first clinic of its kind to be held in the country. [3] He was the coach for the Australian national team again in 2011. [5] [6] [7] As a coach of the national that year, he coached Keegan Oh-Chee at an event. [5] He coached the national team at a World Cup event played at the University of Pretoria in South Africa in 2011. [5] In 2011, he hosted a clinic at the Broadview Tennis Club in Adelaide, South Australia that was made possible by the ITF wheel-chair Tennis Department. Players from around the region attended the clinic he hosted, including one from Sri Lanka. [8] He was the Australian national team coach in 2012. Dylan Alcott

Dylan Martin Alcott, is an Australian wheelchair basketballer, wheelchair tennis player, radio host and motivational speaker. Alcott was a member of the Australia men's national wheelchair basketball team, known colloquially as the Australian "Rollers". At the age of 17 he became the youngest "Rollers" gold medal winner for wheelchair basketball, and was the youngest to compete in the Wheelchair Basketball competition. In 2014, he returned to wheelchair tennis with the aim of participating at the 2016 Rio Paralympics, at which he won gold medals in the Men's Quad Singles and Doubles. He was named the 2016 Australian Paralympian of the Year due to his outstanding achievements at Rio. Alongside his sporting career, he hosted the weekend afternoon radio show on Australian radio station Triple J, and the ABC live music show The Set, as well as being a commentator for the 2019 Australian Open. He also was a member of the panel on the AFL Footy Show in 2019. He is the only man to complete the Calendar-Year Grand Slam in quad doubles, winning all four major titles in 2019; in addition he has also won a non-calendar year Grand Slam in quad singles.

Francis Ettore Ponta was an Australian Paralympic competitor and coach. He competed in several sports including basketball, pentathlon, swimming and fencing. A paraplegic, he lost the use of both his legs after a tumour was removed from his spinal column when he was a teenager. Ponta was a member of Australia's first national wheelchair basketball team, and is credited with expanding the sport of wheelchair basketball in Western Australia. At the end of his competitive career, he became a coach, working with athletes such as Louise Sauvage, Priya Cooper, Madison de Rozario, Bruce Wallrodt and Bryan Stitfall. He died on 1 June 2011 at the age of 75 after a long illness.

Angie Ballard Australian Paralympic athlete

Angela Ballard is an Australian Paralympic athlete who competes in T53 wheelchair sprint events. She became a paraplegic at age 7 due to a car accident.

Daniela Di Toro Australian Wheelchair tennis player

Daniela Di Toro is an Australian Wheelchair tennis player. Di Toro was the 2010 French Open doubles champion and has also been the Masters double champion. In singles Di Toro is the former world number one and two time masters finalist. In 2015, she moved to para-table tennis and represented Australia at the 2016 Rio Paralympics. She was team captain with Kurt Fearnley.

Anthony Bonaccurso is a Paralympic alpine skier and tennis player competitor from Australia. He won a bronze medal at the 2004 Athens Games in the Men's Doubles event. He is one of the few Australian Paralympians to compete at both Summer and Winter Games.

Jannik Blair

Jannik Blair is a 1 point wheelchair basketball player who has played for the University of Missouri and the National Wheelchair Basketball League Dandenong Rangers. He is a member of the Australia men's national wheelchair basketball team, making his debut in 2009, and was member of the Australian team that won the silver medal at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in wheelchair basketball.

Wheelchair tennis first entered the Summer Paralympic Games in 1988 as a demonstration sport and as a full medal sport at the 1992 Barcelona Games. Australia has competed at every Paralympic wheelchair tennis competition. There are teo categories of medals - open division and quad division.

Wheelchair tennis classification is the classification system for wheelchair tennis designed to bring fair play for all competitors. Classification is overseen by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and carried out by the International Tennis Federation (ITF).

Andy Lapthorne British wheelchair tennis player

Andrew David Lapthorne is a British wheelchair tennis player. He took up wheelchair tennis in 2005, and entered the quad division in 2008. He is active in both singles and doubles tournaments, and has won multiple doubles grand slams alongside his partner Peter Norfolk. He competed at his first Summer Paralympics at London 2012 in the quad singles and in the quad doubles, in which he won a silver medal.

Australia at the 2016 Summer Paralympics Sporting event delegation

Australia competed at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 7 to 18 September 2016. Australia repeated its 2012 Summer Paralympics achievement in finishing fifth of the medal tally.
