Haematopota rara, the lace-winged horsefly [2] or shy cleg, [3] is a species of horse flies (insects in the family Tabanidae). [4] [5]

Distribution

H. rara has been recorded in the eastern United States west to Ohio [6] and Tennessee, [7] south to northern Virginia [6] and in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia in Canada. [8]
