Hammarby IF Rugby are an amateur Swedish rugby union team founded in the year 2000, currently competing in the Allsvenskan (Top Swedish league).

In this short period of time the club has produced a number of Swedish national team players in both the XV team as well as in Sevens.

Notable players include Kanogo Njuru, an outside centre, who in the year 2002 played for the Barbarians. [1] [2]

Ireland and the Barbarians have played each other six times to date. The Barbarians have won five of these matches while Ireland has only won once. Ireland's sole victory came in 2008 by a score of 39–14. The most recent encounter between the two teams was during the 2015 mid-year rugby union internationals, with the Barbarians winning by a score of 22–21. Three of the Barbarians' victories, in 2000, 2012 and 2015, have been by a single point.

In June 2014, England played a three test series against New Zealand as part of the 2014 mid-year rugby union tests. They played the All Blacks across the three weeks that the June International window is allocated to; 7 June–21 June, and contested the Hillary Shield, in which England has won once to New Zealand's four. The series was part of the second year of the global rugby calendar established by the International Rugby Board, which runs through to 2019. In addition to the test series, England also played Super Rugby side Crusaders, in a mid-week uncapped match ahead of the third test in Hamilton. They also played the Barbarians at Twickenham, for their annual meeting at the stadium before the tour.

Nora Stapleton is a former Ireland women's rugby union international. Stapleton represented Ireland at the 2010, 2014 and 2017 Women's Rugby World Cups. She was also a member of the Ireland teams that won the 2013 and 2015 Women's Six Nations Championships. Stapleton was a member of the first Ireland teams to defeat both England and New Zealand. Stapleton has also played two other football codes at a senior level. As a women's association football player, she played for UCD in FAI Women's Cup finals and UEFA Women's Cup campaigns. She has also played senior ladies' Gaelic football for Donegal.

David Young is a Welsh rugby union coach and former rugby union and rugby league player. He is director of rugby at Cardiff Blues.
