Hattikuni Dam (Hattikuni reservoir) medium irrigation project in Yadgir district. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] this reservoir was constructed in 1960 to irrigate fields of the nearby villages. [6] It is constructed across Hattikuni nala Motanalli village, the spilled water from the dam runs over stream via Hattikuni, Yeddalli, Bandalli and Chamanalli to Bhima river near Yadgir. The project is located near Yadgir Taluka and District. [7] [8] [9] [10]

The main objective of Hattikuni project is to provide irrigation facilities to the scarcity striken villages of Yadgir district to an extent of 5300 Acres. [11] [12] [13]

The Project was planned for utilization of 387.46 Mcft. The total command area proposed for irrigation is 2145 Ha in only Yadgir taluk of Yadgir District.

Hattikuni Dam is located across Gajarkot branch of Hattikuni stream near Hattikuni village (above 2 miles upstream side) at Latitude 16˚ 53’ North and Longitude 77˚ 10’ 00’’.

The full capacity of Hattikuni Dam is 0.35 tmcft. [14] and according to some sources the dam can hold water up to 32 ft. [15] Hattikuni dam is constructed across the Hattikuni nala which is a tributary to Hattikuni stream. The Hattikuni stream is also tributary to the Yadgir stream which itself is a tributary to river Bhima and joins river Bhima in the Krishna basin. It is an earthen dam with saddle spillway forming a storage reservoir near Shamnapur village of Yadgir Taluka and District, in Karnataka state.

Thoonakkadavu Dam

Thoonakkadavu Dam is located on the Thoonakkadavu River, a tributary of the Parambikulam River, at Thoonakkadavu in the Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary in the Muthalamada Panchayath of Palakkad District, Kerala. It is a small storage reservoir that is a part of the Parambikulam-Aliyar Irrigation Project. The Peruvaripallam Dam is connected to the Parambikulam Dam by a canal through a 2.5 km long underground tunnel. Aruvikkara Dam

Aruvikkara Dam is located in Aruvikkara in Thiruvananthapuram District, Kerala. This Gravity and Masonry dam was built across the Karamana River and was completed in 1972 is used for irrigation and supplying drinking water to the city of Thiruvananthapuram. The Aruvikkara dam project came up in the 1930s and has been supported by the Peppara dam built in 1983. The height of the dam is 14.01 meters and the length is 83.21 meters. The Aruvikkara Dam meets the irrigation needs of Thiruvananthapuram. The reservoir is also one of the water tourism sites in Kerala.

Haft Gumbaz Group of tombs in Gulbarga, Karnataka, India

The Haft Gumbaz, also spelt Haft Gumbad are a group of tombs of the Bahmani dynasty situated in Gulbarga, in the Indian state of Karnataka. Built during the 14th and 15th centuries, the tombs are examples of early Indo-Islamic architecture. There are seven tombs in total, with four being tombs of the rulers of the Bahmani dynasty. The tomb complex is a monument of national importance, maintained by the Archeological Survey of India. The tomb complex is part of the "Monuments and Forts of the Deccan Sultanate", which is an ensemble of various structures added to the tentative list of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
