Hayesomyia is a genus of non-biting midges in the subfamily Tanypodinae of the bloodworm family Chironomidae. Some authorities consider Hayesomyia to be a subgenus of Thienemannimyia due to a lack of clearly distinguishing morphological features.^[1]
