Williams as born in Bridgetown, Barbados, and raised in Canada. [4] [8] [9] Williams is an entrepreneur who owns her own Digital Marketing agency. [4] [1] She worked with the United Nations Women's Secretariat in Barbados and speaks about gender-based violence issues. [4] [10] [11]
Williams began her pageantry career representing Bridgetown in Miss Universe Barbados 2020 On November 15, 2020, where she initially emerged as a finalist and "People’s Choice winner". [1] Subsequently, after the reigning Miss Universe Barbados 2019, Shanel Ifill, received a lucrative modeling contract and had to step away from her title, Hillary was elevated to complete the last 7 months of the reign. [1] Williams won the title of Miss Universe Barbados 2020, and was crowned by former Miss Universe Barbados 2019 Shanel Ifill of Christ Church and current director of Miss Universe Barbados, Brian Green. Hillary is desirous of using her platform to advocate for young people, especially young women who have experienced gender-based violence. Also, she believes that no child should be denied the chance to reach their full potential because of their gender, where they were born, or the circumstances they were born into. [1] [4]
As the winner of Miss Universe Barbados, Williams represented Barbados at the 69th edition of Miss Universe 2020 pageant, [4] [5] [6] [7] [13] held on May 16, 2021 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, United States. Zozibini Tunzi of South Africa crowned her successor Andrea Meza of Mexico at the end of the event. [14] [15] [16]
