Hisako Mizui (born 29 March 1972) is a Japanese badminton player, born in Nara, Nara.

Contents

She competed in women's singles and women's doubles at the 1992 Summer Olympics, and in women's singles at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. [1] She won a silver medal in women's singles at the 1994 Asian Games. [2]

She is a sister of badminton player Yasuko Mizui. [1]

Noted for a style that combined impressive power and movement, she retired from competition after her victory in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, shortly before her 24th birthday. She was elected to the World Badminton Hall of Fame in 2019.

Somharuthai Jaroensiri is a Thai retired badminton player. She competed in women's singles at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, and at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.

Lee Kyung-won is a badminton player from South Korea. Lee was the women's doubles gold medallist at the 2002 Asian Games. She competed at the Olympic Games in 2000, 2004, and 2008, winning women's doubles bronze in 2004, and silver in 2008. She captured the women's doubles gold at the Asian Championships in 2003, 2004 and 2005. Lee educated at the Sungji Girls' Middle School, Sungji Girls' High School, and graduated from the Yong In University.

Thilini Sudhara Jayasinghe is a Sri Lankan badminton player. Born in Peradeniya, Jayasinghe started playing badminton aged 9, and has joined the national team in 2000. She attended Mahamaya College and was named Best Sports Woman in 2004. In 2006 and 2010, she competed at the Asian and Commonwealth Games. Jayasinghe also competed for Sri Lanka at the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics in the women's singles event. She is the first woman badminton player to have ever represented Sri Lanka at the Olympic Games.

Doha Hany Mostafa is an Egyptian badminton player. She started playing badminton at aged five, and joined the national team in 2013. She won the bronze medal at the 2014 African Youth Games, and represented her country at the Summer Youth Olympics in Nanjing, China. She was the women's doubles gold medalist at the 2019 African Games. Hany featured in Egypt team that for the first time won the All Africa Women's Team Championships in 2020, also claimed two title in the individual competition by winning the women's and mixed doubles event. She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in three different events; women's singles, doubles and mixed doubles.

Yasuko Mizui is a former Japanese badminton player who affiliated with NTT Tokyo. She graduated from Shiritsushijonawategakuenko School, and then she joined the Fujitsu team. Mizui competed at the 1996 and 2000 Summer Olympics in the women's singles event. She was part of the Japanese team that won the bronze medals at the 1994 and 1998 Asian Games in the women's team event. Mizui won the women's doubles bronze at the 1996 Asian Championships, and also clinched the women's singles title at the 53 National Championships in 1999. She retired from the international tournament after the 2000 Olympics.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Hirari Mizui</span> Japanese badminton player

Hirari Mizui is a Japanese badminton player. She graduated from Futaba Mirai School. She was the girls' singles bronze medalist at the 2017 Asian Junior Championships. Mizui participated at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She won the bronze medal in the mixed badminton team event.
