Ho Jong-man (born February 22,1935,in Goseong County) [1] is a North Korean politician who served as the third chairman of Chongryon,an association of North Korean residents in Japan. Formerly vice-chairman of the association since July 1993,he succeeded So Man-sul in May 2012 after his death. [2] He is also a deputy of the Supreme People's Assembly.
In Japan,with which there are no diplomatic relations,he is the de facto ambassador to North Korea. [3]
Ho Jong-man was born in South Gyeongsang Province,located in Goseong County (now in South Korea) during the Japanese occupation of Korea,and later moved to Japan with his family. In 1955,he was involved in the formation of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan,also known as Chongryon,and served as chairman of the Kanagawa Prefecture headquarters. In 1959,he was elected chairman of Chongryon. He then served as director of the International Affairs Bureau of the Central Headquarters,and in September 1986,he became the deputy chairman of the Central Committee of the General Assembly. [4] During that time,he worked at Chogin Credit Union,where he had control over personnel affairs. [5] In July 1993,he was promoted to the position of deputy speaker,officially assuming real power. On May 19,2012,following So Man-sul's death in February of the same year, [6] [7] Jong-man took over as the third chairman of the General Federation of Korea. [2] He later became a deputy member through the 2019 North Korean parliamentary election. [8] He was elected in the 11th election of the Supreme People's Assembly of North Korea in August 2003, [9] and re-elected in the 12th election of the Supreme People's Assembly in March 2009. [10] In March 2014,he was re-elected in the 13th election of the Supreme People's Assembly,and in May,he was re-elected as chairman of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan. [11]
On March 26,2015,his home was searched along with that of Vice Chairman Nam Seung-woo,as he was an associate of the president of a trading company who was arrested for illegally importing North Korean matsutake,which were subject to economic sanctions. [12] On April 9,the Supreme People's Assembly was held in North Korea,but Nam attended from the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan. [13]
In the 2019 North Korean parliamentary election,Jong-man was re-elected from the Gokdong constituency (Myonggan County,North Hamgyong Province). [14]
In February 2013,Jong-man won the Hero of Labor,the Golden Shield Medal and the First Class National Flag Medal.[ citation needed ] In the February 14,2020 edition of the Rodong Sinmun ,it was announced that the Order of the National Flag 1st Class and the title of Hero of Labor had been awarded to the three generations of leaders for "greatly contributing to the achievement of the Juche revolution and the patriotic achievements of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan with absolute loyalty." Mikio Aoki was a Japanese politician who served as the Chief Cabinet Secretary from 1999 to 2000,and was briefly acting prime minister following KeizōObuchi's coma. A member of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP),he also served as the Chairman of the LDP in the House of Councillors.

So Man-sul was the chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the pro-Pyongyang General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon),as well as a member of the Supreme People's Assembly of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Makoto Sakurai is the pen name of a political activist,blogger,and writer from Kitakyushu in Fukuoka Prefecture,Japan. A former civil servant in a ward office,he is the founder and former leader of the far-right nationalist group Zaitokukai,known for its anti-foreign messages and public demonstrations which some consider unruly. Following his unsuccessful campaign in the 2016 Tokyo gubernatorial election,he founded the Japan First Party in August 2016 and is currently the party's leader.
Ekan Ikeguchi is a Japanese Shingon Buddhist priest,currently the High Priest of Saifukuji in Kagoshima and Shojoshin-in on Mount Koya. He holds a doctorate in medicine from Yamaguchi University and is an expert in the goma fire ritual. He has spoken at Harvard University and performed a ritual at the World Trade Center site in October 2001. Ikeguchi recently returned to the United States in November 2012 to preside over the goma fire ritual in Los Angeles to commemorate Koyasan Buddhist Temple's 100th anniversary.
The 2014 Tokyo gubernatorial election took place on February 9,2014 to replace outgoing Governor Naoki Inose,who resigned effective December 24,2013. Yōichi Masuzoe was declared the winner in exit polling,with a substantial lead over the fifteen other candidates. His final tally was 2,112,979 votes (42.86%),with his two closest competitors Morihiro Hosokawa and Kenji Utsunomiya failing to break the 20% mark. Total turnout was 4,930,251 (46.14%),significantly lower than the 62.6% turnout in the 2012 election.
The Party for Japanese Kokoro,officially the Party to Cherish the Heart of Japan,was a Japanese political party. It was formed as the Party for Future Generations on 1 August 2014 by a group of Diet members led by ShintarōIshihara. The party adopted its final name in December 2015,and ended up dissolving in November 2018.

Satoshi Mitazono is a Japanese politician and journalist who is the former governor of Kagoshima Prefecture. He defeated the incumbent YūichirōItōat an election held on 10 July 2016.
The 2016 Kagoshima gubernatorial election was held on 10 July 2016 and contested by the three-term incumbent Yuichiro Ito and political journalist Satoshi Mitazono. Ito was denied a fourth term in office,as Mitazono received 55% of the vote following a campaign based primarily on change as well as opposition to the prefecture's operating nuclear power plant. The election was held on the same day as the national House of Councillors election,which helped increase voter turnout to 58.6%,compared to 43.8% at the previous election in 2012.

Ryutaro Nonomura is a Japanese former politician and convicted fraudster known for his crying outburst during a press conference in 2014. Being elected to the Hyogo Prefectural Assembly in 2011,Nonomura had a short legislative career before resigning in 2014 due to a financing scandal. His press conference became a meme due to his hysterical crying after being asked to explain his finances. In 2016,he was sentenced to three years in prison and four years suspended sentence for expenses fraud and misuse of funding.
Naoki Takashima was a Japanese politician. A member of the Liberal Democratic Party,he served as President of the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly from 2014 to 2015.
