Huete is a municipality in Cuenca, Castile-La Mancha, Spain. It has a population of 2,097.
During the Spanish Civil War, the municipality was the location of a small hospital where Annie Murray served as one of the nurses. [2]
Historically, Huete was home to a prosperous Jewish community until the expulsion of the Jews. [3]

The Statute of Autonomy of Melilla is the basic institutional norm of the autonomous city of Melilla, in Spain. Annie Cargill Knight was a Scottish nurse in the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939). Knight was the daughter of a tenant farmer and one of eight children. She became active in the Communist Party after she finished her training as a nurse. She was one of the first British volunteers to arrive in Spain on the side of the Spanish Republican Government during the Spanish Civil War.
