Huete is a municipality in Cuenca, Castile-La Mancha, Spain. It has a population of 2,097.
During the Spanish Civil War, the municipality was the location of a small hospital where Annie Murray served as one of the nurses. [2]
Historically, Huete was home to a prosperous Jewish community until the expulsion of the Jews. [3] From a case filed after the expulsion by a local Jewish converso , it is known that Huete had a synagogue, reportedly built by him at his own expense. [4]
