Hyperview is the third studio album by American rock band Title Fight, released on February 3, 2015, by ANTI- Records. The album was produced by Will Yip at Studio 4 Recording, marking the third time Title Fight has worked with Yip, following Floral Green (2012) and the Spring Songs EP (2013). It was mastered by Emily Lazar and Richard Morales at The Lodge, in New York. [1]
Hyperview produced the singles "Chlorine", "Rose of Sharon", and "Your Pain Is Mine Now". The album marked a change in the band's style from the energetic hardcore punk of previous records to a fuzzier and more textured sound rooted in shoegaze and indie rock. It would also be the last recording released by Title Fight before they would go on hiatus in mid-2018. It would go on to receive positive reviews from critics who praised their growth and stylistic shift.
In 2012, Title Fight released their second album, Floral Green , and followed it up with the 2013 EP, Spring Songs . [2] On July 24, 2014 it was announced that Title Fight had signed to ANTI-. [3] The band said that their "ability to choose our own path regardless of current or past status quos is a defining characteristic" of the band. [3] With signing to ANTI-, they said that "these qualities will be strengthened and supported." [3]
Title Fight's previous efforts were compared to the likes of Gorilla Biscuits and Lifetime. [4] For Hyperview, the band approached it with a sound reminiscent of Shudder to Think and Slowdive. [4] The album's sound has been described as dream pop, [5] indie rock, [6] post-punk, [7] and shoegaze. [5] [8] [9] Bassist Ned Russin said the group was "looking at bands like maybe Dinosaur Jr. and the Beach Boys — we were looking at the moment where they found something that had never been done before and was now being done well. We were just chasing that energy." [10] Hints of the Hyperview sound could be heard in their previous work. [4] Russin claimed that the album was "the most melodic, simple stuff" the band have created. [4] According to the band, the title Hyperview, "is a state of increased vision, of acute awareness. One in which foresight is even sharper than hindsight." [11] "Chlorine" was "a culmination of all attributes, but not limited to any particular one." [11]
On December 1, Hyperview was announced for release, with the artwork and track listing being revealed. [12] It was announced while the band were part-way through a tour with Circa Survive and Pianos Become the Teeth. [13] On the same day, a music video was released for "Chlorine" via The FADER . [11] It was directed by Jonny Look. [14] "Chlorine" was released as a single a day later. [15] On January 12, 2015 a music video was released for "Rose of Sharon", it was directed by Hannah Roman. [2] The video features a young person watching films on his television, interspersed with footage of the band. [16] A day later, the song was released as a single. [17]
"Your Pain Is Mine Now" was made available for streaming via Vogue on January 19. [18] On January 27, the album was made available for streaming. [19] Hyperview was released on February 3 through ANTI-. [10] [nb 1] The band held a record release show at Gallery of Sound in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. [21] In mid March, the band toured the U.S. with support from Merchandise and Power Trip. [22] In late March and early April, the band toured alongside La Dispute with support from The Hotelier. [23] In May, the band toured across Europe with support from Milk Teeth, Cold World and Drug Church. [24] The band went on a tour of the U.S. in October and November. [25]

Compared to previous albums, Title Fight's third effort was not as well received by critics. [35] Some cite the reason for the more mixed reviews was due to the evolution of their sound from a punk and hardcore based noise, to a more distorted, shoegaze-influenced sound. Nevertheless, Hyperview received generally positive reviews overall from professional critics. Album aggregator, Metacritic, gave the album 71/100 indicating "generally favorable reviews".
In a positive review for Exclaim! , Branan Ranjanathan wrote that "the heavily distorted, fuzzy wall of sound from previous albums has been replaced by lead guitar jangle here, but while that may seem off-putting to fans who are accustomed to the relentless punk bludgeoning of their previous material, at its core the songwriting is solid, and familiar enough for old fans to learn to love." [30] Zoe Camp of Pitchfork also gave the album a positive review, praising the songwriting of the band. [32]
The album was included on Grantland's "10 Great Albums From 2015 (So Far) You Might Have Missed" [36] and "Pop-Punk Is the New Indie Rock (or Perhaps the Old Alt Rock)" lists. [37] "Chlorine" was included on Grantland's "Songs of the Week" list. [38]

Mayday Parade is an American rock band from Tallahassee, Florida. Formed in 2005, the band was a result of a merger between two local Tallahassee bands, Kid Named Chicago and Defining Moment. Their debut EP Tales Told by Dead Friends, was released in 2006, and sold over 50,000 copies without any label support. In July 2007, Mayday Parade released their debut album A Lesson in Romantics. Having been signed to Fearless Records since 2006, the band also signed onto a major label with Atlantic Records in 2009. Their second studio album, Anywhere but Here was released in October 2009 and their third album, entitled Mayday Parade, was released in October 2011. Mayday Parade's fourth album, titled Monsters in the Closet, was released in October 2013. Their fifth album, titled Black Lines, was released October 2015. In April 2018, the band signed to Rise Records and released their sixth studio album Sunnyland on June 15, 2018. Their seventh studio album, What It Means to Fall Apart, was released on November 19, 2021.
Arrivals & Departures is the third studio album by Canadian post-hardcore band Silverstein. It was released on July 2, 2007, on Victory. Silverstein promoted the album with music videos for the tracks "If You Could See Into My Soul" and "Still Dreaming".
Not Without a Fight is the sixth studio album by American rock band New Found Glory. It was released on March 10, 2009, through independent label Epitaph Records. Produced by Blink-182 singer-bassist Mark Hoppus and recorded at his home based-OPRA Studios, the album was seen as a return to the band's energetic roots in comparison to its predecessor; the mellow Coming Home (2006). The gap between releases marked the longest period between studio albums in the band's career thus far, while the title is taken from the lyrics in opening track, "Right Where We Left Off".
Nothing Personal is the third studio album by American rock band All Time Low. As early as May 2008, the band began writing for their third album, and by November revealed they would be recording in the winter. The band began pre-production in early January 2009 and started recording later in the month, which lasted until March. Half of the album's songs were produced by Matt Squire with Butch Walker, David Bendeth and S*A*M and Sluggo each producing a few songs. Tom Lord-Alge mixed the majority of the album. "Weightless" was made available for streaming in March, and released as a single in April. A support slot for Fall Out Boy and an appearance at the Bamboozle festival followed.
This Addiction is the seventh studio album by Chicago-based rock band Alkaline Trio, released February 23, 2010 as the first release by their newly formed record label Heart & Skull, a joint venture with Epitaph Records. Described as a return to the band's punk rock roots, it was recorded at Atlas Studios in their hometown of Chicago with Matt Allison, the same location and producer used for much of their early material. The album draws lyrical inspiration from the band members' personal lives, addressing themes such as love, addiction, death, divorce, grief, suicide, politics, and war. It became the highest-charting album of the band's career, debuting on the Billboard 200 at #11 and also reaching #1 on the Rock, Independent, and Alternative Albums charts.
The Wonder Years is an American rock band from Lansdale, Pennsylvania, formed in July 2005. The band currently consists of Dan "Soupy" Campbell, Casey Cavaliere, Matt Brasch, Josh Martin, Nick Steinborn and Mike Kennedy. Their name originates from a paper that Campbell read that was written by one of his after-school educators titled "The Wonder Years."

Colourmeinkindness is the second studio album by English rock band Basement, released on 23 October 2012 by Run for Cover Records.
Underclass Hero is the fourth studio album by Canadian rock band Sum 41. It is the first of two albums by the band recorded without guitarist Dave "Brownsound" Baksh since he left a year earlier to focus on Brown Brigade. It was first released on July 18, 2007, in Japan by Island Records and distributed worldwide by Aquarius Records, the band's final album on the label. In comparison to the heavy metal-inspired punk style of their previous album Chuck (2004), Underclass Hero marked a return to the band’s pop-punk sound.
