The Hyundai Ioniq 2 is an upcoming battery electric crossover SUV to be manufactured by Hyundai. Sales are set to commence in 2026.
The Ioniq 2 will be a subcompact SUV expected to sit in-between the Bayon and Inster in Hyundai's lineup. Hyundai's European CEO (Xavier Martinet) confirmed that the model will launch sometime in the third quarter of 2026. [1]
The starting price is expected to be around €30,000 and the Ioniq 2 will use the Art of Steel design language first introduced on the second generation Hyundai Nexo.
It is set to be revealed at the 2025 Munich Motor Show in Munich, Germany. [2]
The Ioniq 2 is expected to use a front-wheel-drive layout and borrow the motor and batteries from the Kia EV3. If confirmed then the Ioniq 2 will use the EV3's 58.3kWh and 81.4 kWh batteries and a motor producing 201 horsepower and 209 pound feet of torque. [3]
