iNews Media Group (formerly known as Sindo Media Group) Indonesian media company founded by businessman and politician from Perindo Party, Hary Tanoesoedibjo and Angela Tanoesoedibjo. Division of Media Nusantara Citra (MNC Media) operating in the mass media sector. This division combines various (but not all) television, radio, online, and social media portfolios owned by MNC Media under one management. iNews Media Group claims to be "The most dynamic and comprehensive news and information center." [1]
Before the existence of iNews Media Group, a similar scheme was implemented by the MNC Group under the name Sindo Media. "Sindo" in the division name is an abbreviation of the name of the previous news program in RCTI, is Seputar Indonesia . Launced on 26 September 2011, Sindo Media itself consists of a number of mass media that have the same brand.:
Sindo Media is a media group focused on news reporting, and the media outlets under its banner are expected to integrate and become the news media wing of the MNC Group. Ultimately, Sindo Media is expected to attract advertisers with its integrated system. [7] [8] The media under Sindo Media itself are actually united by the common use of the Sindo brand, but do not have the same parent company (even though the ultimate owner is the same, namely MNC Group/Hary Tanoesoedibjo). Sindo Media is not a holding company or a legal entity like Naamloze vennootschap.
After 2015, MNC appeared to have abandoned the use of the single Sindo brand. On 6 April 2015, Sindo TV was relaunched as iNews TV (now iNews), and on 26 September 2017, Sindo Trijaya FM's name became MNC Trijaya FM. Currently, the Sindo Media brand appears to no longer be promoted by MNC and merely serves as a kind of flag for its print news media (newspapers and magazines). Then, in 2018, Sindo Media officially abandoned its eagle circle logo and replaced it with the MNC rhombus. Although not as big as before, Sindo Media still frequently holds events such as seminars and awards.
On 31 August 2023, in conjunction with the 2023 Indonesia Awards ceremony, the iNews Media Group holding was launched by Executive Chairman MNC Group, Hary Tanoesoedibjo. [9] The inauguration was accompanied by the board of directors (BOD) of iNews Media Group and the Perindo Party presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo and broadcast by iNews. [10] [11] [12] [13] [14] [15] iNews Media Group is a leader in providing quality news and engaging content from six major media groups. These six media groups are Okezone Group, Sindonews Group, iNews Group, idxchannel Group, Celebrities Group, and Sportstars Group. Each group consists of a combination of four media platforms: online, TV, radio, and social media. iNews Media Group demonstrates a relentless commitment to providing credible news, in-depth sports coverage, and inspiring entertainment for all Indonesians. At launch, iNews Media Group and its subholdings included: [18]
Just like Sindo Media, there is actually no parent company that oversees the media under the iNews Media Group. [20] Despite being launched with the claim of "wow" (as The Largest Integrated News, Sport and Newstainment), [18] In fact, the iNews Media Group structure, which encompassed six sub-holdings, didn't last long. Now, it's stated that iNews Media Group only manages the MNC Group's television news division, news portal, and radio stations. In fact, radio stations previously named after their sub-holdings have been renamed (for example, Global Radio, which was briefly renamed Okezone Radio, then reverted to Global Radio). The current iNews Media Group structure is as follows: [21]
iNews.id is an Indonesian news portal site owned by Media Nusantara Citra. [22] The site was officially launched on 1 November 2017. [23]
