"In My Room" is a song by Frank Ocean, released as a single on November 2, 2019. [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] Ocean wrote and produced the song alongside Michael Uzowuru. It was premiered on Ocean's Beats 1 radio show, Blonded Radio , [9] two weeks after "DHL". [10] [11] The 7-inch single vinyl is set to include a remix by Benny Revival as its B-side. [12]

The song features Ocean rapping and crooning over a looped synth line and a "simple" beat, [13] [14] with some drum programming done by Sango. [15] [16]

Critical reception

Matthew Schnipper of Pitchfork compared the song to the music of rapper Lil B and called the first two-thirds of the song "nice, if close to throwaway." [17]

Following the flooding and destruction of his recording studio during Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Ocean moved from his hometown of New Orleans to the Californian city of Los Angeles, where he sought to continue his musical career, eventually landing himself a songwriting contract. In 2009, Ocean signed to Def Jam Recordings as a solo artist.
