Blonded Radio (stylized as blonded RADIO) is Frank Ocean's Apple Music 1 radio show that originally lasted from February to August 2017, with four additional special episodes that aired in November and December 2018, four more episodes from October to December 2019, and another episode in December 2021. The show is hosted by Ocean, Vegyn, and Roof Access and usually airs a new single from Ocean each episode. A fictional radio station based on the show, titled "Blonded Los Santos 97.8", was added to the video game Grand Theft Auto V in December 2017.
Episode 001, aired on February 24, 2017. The episode showcased the collaborative song "Slide" by record producer Calvin Harris featuring Ocean and rappers Quavo and Offset from the American hip hop group Migos. The episode also included an interview with Jay-Z talking about the current state of radio and the music industry. [2] Episode 002 aired on March 10, 2017, with the single "Chanel", a song about Ocean's bisexuality. [3] The episode ended with repeats of "Chanel", sometimes featuring a verse from rapper ASAP Rocky. [4]
Episode 003 aired on April 8, 2017. The episode ended by playing a new single titled "Biking", featuring rappers Jay-Z and fellow Odd Future member Tyler, the Creator [5] who have both previously collaborated with Ocean. [6] [7] He previously streamed a trailer [8] for the song on his website, featuring a different instrumental.
Episode 004 aired on April 23, 2017. The episode featured "Lens", which included an alternative version featuring rapper Travis Scott. [9] The next morning, Episode 005 aired with a Young Thug remix of the song "Slide On Me" from Ocean's 2016 video album Endless . [10] [11]
Episode 006 aired on May 15, 2017. The episode aired with the first single from ASAP Mob's then-upcoming album Cozy Tapes Vol. 2: Too Cozy. RAF features vocals from ASAP Rocky, Quavo, Lil Uzi Vert, two different rap verses from Ocean, and additional vocals from Playboi Carti. A solo version of "Biking" with no featured artists and a new third verse was also aired. [12] [13] After a summer hiatus due to Ocean performing at music festivals, [14] Episode 007 aired on August 27, 2017, with the single "Provider". [15]
On December 12, 2017, a fictionalized version of the show was launched in Grand Theft Auto V and its online counterpart Grand Theft Auto Online , as an in-game radio station called blonded Los Santos 97.8 FM, as part of a content update. [16]
On November 6, 2018, three midterm specials were aired throughout the day, in collation with the midterm elections that were held in the United States, [17] as well as the release of new merchandise given to those with proof of voting for free in Houston, Atlanta, Miami, and Dallas. [18] On December 25, 2018, Ocean premiered "blonded Xmas", a curated Christmas music playlist. [19] None of these episodes featured any new music. [20] [21] [22] [23]

On October 19, 2019, Ocean hosted his first PrEP+ party. It was described as an “homage to what could have been of the 1980s' NYC club scene if the [ HIV-preventing] drug PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis)... had been invented in that era.” The poster for the event featured the words “Blonded Radio”. [25] During the party, two remixes were played for unreleased songs by Ocean: Dear April (Justice Remix) and Cayendo (Sango Remix). [26] New merchandise was made available on the blonded.co website following the event, [27] as well as a listing for both songs on vinyl. [28] Highlights from the event were aired on blonded 008 the same day, including the new song “DHL”, which released soon after the event. [29]
On October 24, 2019, the second PrEP+ party was held, which featured Ocean's remix of fellow artist SZA's song “The Weekend”. All four of the DJs at the event (Leeon, Arca, Papi Juice and Shyboi) were queer. [30] The song was never featured on blonded Radio. [31]
On October 31, 2019, the third party took place. It was themed around Halloween. [32] The party also featured an unreleased collaboration with British rapper Skepta, called “Little Demon (Arca Remix)”. The song aired during blonded 009, on November 3, 2019, alongside “In My Room”. [33]
On November 9, 2019, Episode 010 aired, and became the first ever episode to feature no new music. [34]
On December 24, 2021, a new Christmas special episode of Blonded Radio aired, titled "blonded Xmas". [35]

Chaz Bear, known professionally as Toro y Moi, is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, and graphic designer. He is often recognized as a spearhead of the chillwave genre in the 2010s, alongside contemporaries Washed Out and Neon Indian, although his music has explored various styles since. His stage name is a multilingual expression consisting of the Spanish words toro and y and the French word moi.
James Blake Litherland is an English singer, songwriter, and record producer. He first gained recognition following the release of three extended plays (EPs)—The Bells Sketch, CMYK and Klavierwerke—in 2010. He signed with A&M Records to release his self-titled debut album (2011) the following year, which was met with critical praise and peaked within the top ten of the UK Albums Chart. He departed the label in favour of Republic Records, through which he released his second album, Overgrown (2013) to further critical and commercial success; it likewise peaked within the chart's top ten and moderately entered the US Billboard 200. His third album The Colour in Anything (2016) was followed by his fourth, Assume Form (2019), which became his highest-charting release on both charts. His fifth and sixth albums, Friends That Break Your Heart (2021) and Playing Robots Into Heaven (2023) followed thereafter.

Alejandra Ghersi Rodríguez, known professionally as Arca, is a Venezuelan musician and record producer based in Barcelona, Spain. She initially began releasing music under the name of Nuuro. After attending the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music, Ghersi first released the EP Baron Libre (2012) under the name Arca and subsequently released the EPs Stretch 1 and Stretch 2; the latter experimented with hip hop and brought her attention from prominent music publications.
Steven Zhu, known mononymously as Zhu, is an American electronic music producer and singer who has been active since the beginning of 2014, signed to Mind of a Genius Records. Until mid-2014, ZHU remained anonymous, asking to be judged by his music alone. His debut album, Generationwhy, was released on July 29, 2016 and first premiered at Coachella during his closing set in the Sahara Tent. ZHU's Coachella performance was praised, with a writer for the New York Observer suggesting that he could be "the next Daft Punk".
Michael Uzowuru is an American record producer. He has produced and written for SZA, Frank Ocean, Beyoncé, Donald Glover, Vince Staples, Earl Sweatshirt, and Rosalía, among others.
Makonnen Kamali Sheran, better known by his stage name iLoveMakonnen, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He first became known for his 2014 song "Tuesday", which was discovered and remixed by Canadian rapper Drake. Originally released in August of that year, he signed with Drake's record label OVO Sound, an imprint of Warner Records that same month; the song was given a commercial re-release by the label the following September, and subsequently peaked at number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 and received a nomination for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards. "Tuesday" served as the lead single for his likewise re-issued self-titled debut extended play (2014), which modestly entered the Billboard 200. He parted ways with OVO and Warner in 2016, and his following releases failed to chart.
Endless is a visual album by American singer Frank Ocean. It was released on August 19, 2016, as an exclusive streaming-only video on Apple Music, and preceded the August 20 release of Ocean's second studio album Blonde. Endless was later remastered and had a limited reissue in physical audio and visual formats on November 27, 2017.

It was released as a promotional single from West's seventh studio album, The Life of Pablo, on January 8, 2016, The song includes West rapping about his trust issues around friends and family, with Whodini's song "Friends" being directly recalled.
Blonde is the second studio album by the American singer Frank Ocean. It was released on August 20, 2016, as a timed exclusive on the iTunes Store and Apple Music, and followed the August 19 release of Ocean's video album Endless. "Provider" is a song by American singer-songwriter Frank Ocean, released as a single on the seventh episode of Blonded Radio. Shortly after the release, Ocean released a lyric video for the song on his website, with the words on screen being highlighted by a hopping Hello Kitty head.
"DHL" is a song by Frank Ocean, released as a single on October 19, 2019. Prior to being released for digital download and streaming, the track was premiered at the end of Ocean's Beats 1 radio show, Blonded Radio. Its release follows a day after Ocean announced the tracks "Cayendo" and "Dear April". It is Ocean's first release since his cover of "Moon River" was released in February 2018 and it is his first original song since releasing "Provider" in August 2017.
"In My Room" is a song by Frank Ocean, released as a single on November 2, 2019. Ocean wrote and produced the song alongside Michael Uzowuru. It was premiered on Ocean's Beats 1 radio show, Blonded Radio, two weeks after "DHL". The 7-inch single vinyl is set to include a remix by Benny Revival as its B-side.
Memento Mori is an Apple Music 1 radio show created by Canadian singer the Weeknd. Syndicated through his record label XO, the show began airing on June 8, 2018. Throughout the show, the Weeknd plays a mixture of songs that have inspired him during his album-making process. He also invites various guests to host their own episode and share their curated playlists.
"Little Demon" is a song by American singer Frank Ocean featuring vocals by British rapper Skepta. The song was intended to be sold as a 7-inch single in November 2019, but plans were scrapped in February 2020. The song was remixed by Venezuelan record producer Arca and previewed on Blonded Radio. The song has yet to be released digitally.
Josiah Sherman, known professionally as Buddy Ross, is an American record producer, keyboardist, songwriter, and audio engineer from Washington. He is best known for his work with Frank Ocean, having produced on his albums Blonde (2016) and Endless (2017), as well as his singles "Provider" and "Moon River." Ross has also written or produced material for artists including Bon Iver, Travis Scott, Vampire Weekend, Miley Cyrus, HAIM, Arlo Parks, Fred Again, Wet, Banks, and Troye Sivan, among others.
