The GAA Interprovincial Championship or Railway Cup is the name of two annual Gaelic football and hurling competitions held between the provinces of Ireland. The Connacht, Leinster, Munster and Ulster GAA teams are composed of the best players from the counties in each province. The games are organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association.

In April 2017, Cricket Ireland approved the participation of a fourth team, Munster Reds, for the tournament. Leinster Lightning won the tournament, after beating Munster Reds by five wickets in the final round of fixtures.
Munster Reds is an Irish inter-provincial cricket team based in Munster. In April 2017, Cricket Ireland approved the participation of the team in the Interprovincial Twenty20 Cup, the highest level of T20 domestic cricket in Ireland. They joined Leinster Lightning, North West Warriors and Northern Knights in the 2017 tournament. They played their first match in the Inter-Provincial Trophy on 26 May 2017, and won their first match, against North West Warriors, on 6 July 2018. Following the successful end to their 2018 season, there was talk of Munster Reds being included in the Interprovincial One-Day Trophy competition, but while this is an objective of Cricket Ireland, it was confirmed this would not happen in 2019. In February 2021, Cricket Ireland confirmed that the team would take part in the 2021 tournament. Munster won their inaugural Inter-Provincial title when they won the 2022 Inter-Provincial Cup.

On 25 March 2021, Cricket Ireland confirmed the fixtures for the tournament. On 9 April 2021, Cricket Ireland announced the revised fixtures for the tournament, with number of matches increased from 12 to 18. Leinster Lightning were the defending champions.
The Women's Super Series, previously known as the Women's Super 3s, is a women's domestic cricket tournament organised by Cricket Ireland. The tournament began in 2015 as a combined 50-over and Twenty20 tournament, with three teams taking part: Dragons, Scorchers and Typhoons. In 2020, the tournament was reduced to two teams and only used a 50-over format. In 2021, the Super Series was split into separate 50-over and Twenty20 tournaments. In 2022, the tournament returned to a three team format.
Gavin A. Hoey is an Irish cricketer, who bats right-handed and bowls right-arm leg break. He currently plays for the Leinster Lightning in the Inter-Provincial Trophy and the Pembroke Cricket Club in the Irish Senior Cup. He is the son of Conor Hoey, who is also an Irish former cricketer.
