The Inter-Provincial T20 Festival, known for sponsorship reasons as the Hanley Energy Inter-Provincial T20 Festival, is a Twenty20 cricket tournament in Ireland over three days between the four leading cricketing provinces of Ireland. The tournament was first held in July 2018 at Pembroke Cricket Club in Sandymount, Dublin. All four inter-provincial sides in the season long T20 competition, the Inter-Provincial Trophy, will take part. [1]

Format

The tournament, inaugurated in 2018 is held as a single round-robin format with each team playing each other once, with six matches over three days between 6 and 8 July 2018. [2]

Teams

Four teams will initially participate in the tournament, Leinster, Northern and North-West, and Munster . Pembroke Cricket Club will host the competition. [3]

The Inter-Provincial Championship is a three-day cricket tournament in Ireland, played between regional teams drawn from three of Ireland's five provincial unions. It parallels first-class cricket tournaments in other countries such as the County Championship of England and the Sheffield Shield of Australia. The Women's Super Series, previously known as the Women's Super 3s, is a women's domestic cricket tournament organised by Cricket Ireland. The tournament began in 2015 as a combined 50-over and Twenty20 tournament, with three teams taking part: Dragons, Scorchers and Typhoons. In 2020, the tournament was reduced to two teams and only used a 50-over format. In 2021, the Super Series was split into separate 50-over and Twenty20 tournaments. In 2022, the tournament returned to a three team format.

Gavin Hoey is an Irish cricketer, who bats right-handed and bowls leg breaks. He currently plays for the Leinster Lightning in the Inter-Provincial Trophy and the Pembroke Cricket Club in the Irish Senior Cup. He is the son of Conor Hoey, who is also an Irish former cricketer.

It was the sixth edition of the competition to be played with full Twenty20 status. The tournament was played as a series of three-day festivals between four teams, with the fixtures being confirmed by Cricket Ireland on 4 March 2022. North West Warriors were the defending champions, having won the 2021 competition. After a strong start to the competition by Munster Reds, which saw them top of the table going into the final festival at Sydney Parade in July, they were eventually beaten to the title on net run rate by Leinster Lightning, which was their 7th Inter-Provincial Trophy.

The 2023 Inter-Provincial Trophy, also known as Rario T20 Inter-Provincial Trophy for sponsorship reasons, was the 11th edition of the Inter-Provincial Trophy, a Twenty20 cricket competition being played in Ireland in 2023. It was the seventh edition of the competition played with full Twenty20 status. The tournament was played as a series of three-day festivals between four teams, with the fixtures being confirmed by Cricket Ireland on 5 June 2023. Leinster Lightning are the defending champions having won their 7th title in 2022.
