The CSA Provincial T20 Cup is a professional domestic Twenty20 Cricket competition in South Africa. The competition was established by Cricket South Africa (CSA) in 2019. It is the second-level Twenty20 competition in South Africa. [1]

Contents

At first it was played between the 15 South African provincial teams, along with Limpopo and Mpumalanga. [2] This was the sixth edition of the CSA Provincial T20 Cup, which was last played in the 2015–16 season. With only domestic teams from South Africa taking part, the tournament returned in place of the Africa T20 Cup, which had been held since 2015. [3] [4] [5] the national under-19 team. [6]

The CSA Provincial T20 is a Twenty20 Cricket competition in South Africa, first contested in the 2011–12 season. It was previously known as the CSA Provincial T20 until the season, the CSA Provincial T20 Challenge for the 2014-15 season and most recently as the competition was itself cancelled in favour of the CSA Provincial T20 Cup from 2019–20.

The tournament has been contested since its inception by the 14 Domestic teams but for the In April 2019, Cricket South Africa announced that the 2019-20 tournament would be the final edition of the CSA Provincial T20 Challenge, due to austerity measures and a restructure of domestic cricket in the country.

Beyers Swanepoel is a South African cricketer. He made his first-class debut for Free State in the 2016–17 Sunfoil 3-Day Cup on 9 March 2017. He made his List A debut for Free State in the 2017–18 CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge on 15 October 2017. He was the leading wicket-taker in the 2018 University Sports South Africa tournament while playing for the University of the Free State. His performance during the tournament saw him included in the tournament's team that will participate in the Future Cup in April 2019.

In April 2021, he was named in South Western Districts' squad, ahead of the 2021–22 cricket season in South Africa. He made his Twenty20 debut on 26 September 2021, for South Western Districts in the 2021–22 CSA Provincial T20 Knock-Out tournament.

The 2021–22 CSA T20 Challenge was a Twenty20 cricket tournament that took place in South Africa during February 2022. It replaced the planned 2022 edition of the Mzansi Super League, which was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Imperial Lions were the defending champions.

The 2021–22 CSA Provincial T20 Knock-Out was a Twenty20 cricket tournament that was played in South Africa in September and October 2021. It was the first Twenty20 tournament to be played in the country since Cricket South Africa restructured its domestic setup, and featured all fifteen provincial sides and the national under-19 team.

The CSA Women's T20 Challenge, previously known as the CSA Women's Provincial T20 Competition, is a women's domestic Twenty20 cricket competition organised by Cricket South Africa. The tournament began in the 2012–13 season, and currently sees sixteen teams competing.
