Johannes Albertus Morkel, better known as Albie Morkel, is a former South African cricketer. He is an all-rounder who bowls right-arm medium fast and bats left-handed. He was earmarked as the new Lance Klusener from an early age and is famous for his six hitting abilities. Albie has a younger brother, Morné Morkel, who also played international cricket for South Africa while his father Albert played provincial cricket in South Africa. He has a particularly impressive first class record, with a batting average of 44.0 and a bowling average of 29.0. In January 2019, he retired from all forms of cricket.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Hashim Amla</span> South African cricketer

Hashim Mahomed Amla OIS is a South African former international cricketer who captained the national side in Tests and ODIs. Amla holds the record for being the fastest ever to score 3,000, 4,000, 6,000 and 7,000 ODI runs, and second fastest to reach 5,000 runs. He also became the fastest cricketer to reach 10 ODI centuries. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen to have played for South Africa, and one of the greatest opening batsmen of all time.

Morné Morkel is a South African cricket coach and former cricketer who played international cricket between 2006 and 2018. He later worked as the bowling coach of the Pakistan national cricket team until November 2023 and in August 2024 was appointed as the bowling coach of the India national cricket team.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Faf du Plessis</span> South African cricketer (born 1984)

François "Faf" du Plessis is a South African professional cricketer and former captain of the South Africa national cricket team. He is considered one of the greatest fielders of all time and among the best all-format batsmen of his era. He is also regarded as one of the most tactically astute and successful captains in all formats of modern cricket. In 2015, du Plessis became the first South African to score centuries in all forms of the game. He was named as the South African Cricketer of the Year in 2019.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">David Miller (South African cricketer)</span> South African cricketer

David Andrew Miller is a South African professional cricketer. He currently plays for South African national team in limited overs cricket. He is an aggressive left-handed middle order batsman and an occasional wicket-keeper. He holds the record for the fastest T20i century among full memeber ICC nations, achieving the milestone in 35 deliveries.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">David Wiese</span> Namibian cricketer (born 1985)

David Wiese is a South African-born former Namibian cricketer who has played for Namibia in international cricket. Wiese became eligible to play international cricket for Namibia due to his father having been born in Namibia. Wiese played international cricket for South Africa from 2013 to 2016, before making his international debut for Namibia in October 2021.

The Indian cricket team toured South Africa from 16 December 2010 to 23 January 2011. The tour consisted of three Tests, one Twenty20 International (T20I) and five One Day Internationals (ODIs).

The Pakistani cricket team toured South Africa from 1 February to 24 March 2013. The tour consisted of two Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is), three Test matches and five One Day Internationals (ODIs). South Africa announced their summer schedule of January–March in which they replaced their traditional Boxing Day Test with a T20I for the 2012–13 home season, during which they hosted New Zealand and Pakistan.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Aiden Markram</span> South African cricketer

Aiden Kyle Markram is a South African cricketer who is the current captain of the South Africa national cricket team in Twenty20 International cricket and former captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League. Markram had captained the South African under-19 cricket team to win the 2014 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. In the 2018 South African Cricket Annual, he was named as one of the five “Cricketers of the Year”. Markram was described by former captain and batsman Graeme Smith as a future South Africa captain. He made his international debut for South Africa in September 2017. He is currently the captain of Sunrisers eastern cape of the SA20 league which was formed in 2022, who successfully won the cup in 2023 and 2024.

The New Zealand cricket team toured South Africa from 14 to 26 August 2015. The tour consisted of three One Day International and two Twenty20 International matches. In June Brendon McCullum was named as the captain for New Zealand on this tour. However, in July, it was announced that McCullum had been rested for this tour and the tour to Zimbabwe, being replaced by Kane Williamson.

The South African cricket team toured India from 29 September to 7 December 2015. The tour consisted of four Test matches, five One Day International (ODI) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. This was the first time a four-match Test series between the two nations has been played in India and the first time that South Africa played a T20I against India in India. India won the Test series while South Africa won both the ODI and T20I series.

Andile Lucky Phehlukwayo is a South African professional cricketer. He is a left handed lower order batsman who bowls right-arm fast-medium. He made his international debut for South Africa in September 2016.

Heinrich Klaasen is a South African cricketer who plays for the South African national cricket team in limited overs cricket. He was included in the Northerns cricket team for the 2015 Africa T20 Cup. In February 2021, Klaasen captained South Africa for the first time in a T20I match. On 21 March 2023, in a match against West Indies, Klaasen scored his second ODI century in 54 balls. Renowned for his adept power-hitting capabilities, he demonstrates proficiency as a wicketkeeper, coupled with exceptional prowess as a finisher within the contemporary cricketing landscape. His remarkable statistics against slow bowling, where he maintained a striking rate of 191 and achieved an average of 132 against spin during the 2023 IPL, have established him as a coveted asset for T20 franchises.

Dwaine Pretorius is a former South African international cricketer who currently plays in various T20 leagues around the globe and for North West in domestic cricket as a bowling all-rounder. He announced his retirement from international cricket on 9 January 2023.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Lungi Ngidi</span> South African cricketer

Lungisani True-man Ngidi is a South African professional cricketer who plays for the South Africa national cricket team. In the 2018 South African Cricket Annual Awards, he was named as one of the five Cricketers of the Year. In July 2020, Ngidi was named both ODI and T20I cricketer of the year at Cricket South Africa's annual awards ceremony.

Anrich Arno Nortje is a South African cricketer. He made his international debut for the South Africa cricket team in March 2019. In July 2020, Nortje was named the newcomer of the year at Cricket South Africa's annual awards ceremony.

The Bangladesh cricket team toured South Africa in September and October 2017 to play two Tests, three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and two Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. It was Bangladesh's first tour of South Africa in nine years. Ahead of the series, Faf du Plessis was appointed captain of South Africa's ODI side, replacing AB de Villiers, therefore captaining South Africa in all three formats. However, du Plessis suffered an injury during the third ODI ruling him out of the T20I series, with JP Duminy replacing him as captain.
