A T20I is an international cricket match between two teams that have official Twenty20 International status, as determined by the International Cricket Council. [1] It is played under the rules of Twenty20 cricket and is the shortest form of the game. The Netherlands cricket team played its first T20I match on 2 August 2008, against Kenya as part of the 2008 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier, winning the match by 19 runs. [2]

Where more than one player won his first Twenty20 cap in the same match, those players are listed alphabetically by surname.

The team is organised by Cricket PNG, which has been an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) since 1973. Papua New Guinea previously had One-Day International (ODI) status, which it gained by finishing fourth in 2014 World Cup Qualifier. Papua New Guinea lost both their ODI and T20I status in March 2018 after losing a playoff match against Nepal during the 2018 Cricket World Cup Qualifier, a result that earned ODI and T20I status for their opponents. On 26 April 2019, Papua New Guinea defeated Oman to secure a top-four finish in the 2019 ICC World Cricket League Division Two and reclaim their ODI status.

A Twenty20 International (T20I) is a form of Twenty20 cricket, in which each team plays a single innings with a maximum of twenty overs. The matches are played between international teams recognized by the International Cricket Council (ICC). In the T20I format, each bowler is restricted to a maximum of four overs. A mandatory powerplay is taken during the first six overs of an innings.

A Super Over, also known as a one-over eliminator or a one over per side eliminator, is a tie-breaking method used in limited-overs cricket matches. If a match ends in a "tie", it proceeds to a Super Over, in which each team plays a single additional over of six balls to determine the match winner. The team scoring the most runs in that over is declared the winner. Following a rule change in October 2019 for knockout and bilateral series matches, if the first Super Over also ends in a tie, another Super Over is played.

Michael James Rippon is a South African-born cricketer. He current plays international cricket for New Zealand, having previously also played for the Netherlands national cricket team. He is a right-handed batsman who bowls left-arm unorthodox spin.

Vivian Jilling Kingma is a Dutch cricketer. He played for the Netherlands in the 2014 ICC World Twenty20 tournament. He was initially selected in the Netherlands squad for the 2015 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier tournament in July 2015, but was replaced by Roelof van der Merwe. He made his Twenty20 International debut against Scotland on 5 February 2016.

The Zimbabwe cricket team toured the Netherlands in June 2019 to play two One Day Internationals (ODIs) and two Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The two teams last faced each other in an ODI match at the 2003 Cricket World Cup, with Zimbabwe winning by 99 runs. The last time the two sides played a T20I match against each other was during the 2014 ICC World Twenty20 tournament, with Zimbabwe winning by five wickets.

The Netherlands national cricket team is one of the associate members of the International Cricket Council (ICC). Out of the nine edition of the tournament that have been held, the team has participated in six editions. They qualified for their first T20 World Cup in 2009, but failed to make it to the next two editions. They made their reappearance at the tournament in 2014 and have qualified for every edition since then.
