Iran competed in the 2022 Asian Para Games in Hangzhou, China from 19 October to 28 October 2023. Earlier the event was scheduled to held in October 2022 but due to COVID-19 pandemic cases rising in China the event was postponed and rescheduled to October 2023. [2]

The Asian Games, also known as Asiad, is a continental multi-sport event held every four years for athletes of Asia. The Games were regulated by Asian Games Federation from the first Games in New Delhi, India in 1951, until the 1978 Games. Since the 1982 Games, they have been organized by the Olympic Council of Asia, after the breakup of the Asian Games Federation. The Games are recognized by the International Olympic Committee and are the second largest multi-sport event after the Olympic Games.
The Asian Youth Games, also known as AYG, is a multi-sport event held every four years among athletes from all over Asia. The Games have been organized by the Olympic Council of Asia. The Games are described as the second-largest continental multi-sport event after the Asian Games.
The Asian Para Games, also known as Para Asiad, is a multi-sport event regulated by the Asian Paralympic Committee that's held every four years after every Asian Games for athletes with physical disabilities. Both events had adopted the strategy used by the Olympic and Paralympic Games of having both games in the same city. However, the exclusion of Asian Para Games from Asian Games host city contract meant that both events ran independently of each other. The Games are recognized by the International Paralympic Committee and are described as the second largest multi-sport event after the Paralympic Games.

Kabiraj Negi Lama is a notable figure in Nepalese Para Taekwondo and a successful coach who has made significant contributions to the sport in Nepal. Under his coaching, Nepal has won 11 international official medals, including 3 gold, 2 silver, and 6 bronze. He is a former Nepalese Taekwondo player and the coach of the Nepal National Para Taekwondo Team for both the Tokyo 2020 Summer Paralympics and Paris 2024 Summer Paralympics. He has participated in various taekwondo competitions. He is also the grandson of former minister Tilak Bahadur Negi Lama.

Japan participated at the 2022 Asian Para Games in Hangzhou, China from 22 to 28 October 2023. Originally scheduled to take place from 9 to 15 October 2022, the event was postponed to 2023 on 17 May 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Japan sent 259 athletes to the game, consisting of 153 men and 106 women, and competed in 20 out of 22 events, excepting only Chess and Go. Japanese athletes won a total of 150 medals - 42 gold medals, 49 silver medals and 59 bronze medals and finished third at the medal table after China and Iran.

However, due to COVID-19 pandemic cases rising in China the event was postponed and rescheduled to October 2023.
