Kedah Darul Aman Football Club is a professional football club based in Alor Setar, Kedah, that competes in the Malaysia Super League. They are the first team in the history of Malaysian football to have won two consecutive trebles: in 2006–07 and 2007–08 guided by head coach, Azraai Khor Abdullah. The club is managed by Darulaman Football Club Sdn Bhd currently own by Tan Sri Dr Mohd Daud Bakar.
The Malaysia national rugby sevens team is a minor national sevens side. They have competed in the Hong Kong Sevens since the 1980s. Malaysia also qualified for the 2010 Commonwealth Games.

The games marked the 110th anniversary since the creation of the first continental event, starting with the 1913 Far Eastern Championship Games.

Muhammad Rian Ardianto is an Indonesian badminton player. Born in Bantul, Yogyakarta SR, Ardianto plays for the Jaya Raya Jakarta club at national events. He won the men's doubles silver medal at the 2018 Asian Games, the bronze medals at the 2017 SEA Games, and at the 2019 and 2022 World Championships. Ardianto was part of Indonesia winning team at the 2020 Thomas Cup. He reached a career high of world number 1 in the men's doubles with Fajar Alfian on 27 December 2022.

Abdul Azim Mohamad Zabidi, the Appeals Committee chairman of the Olympic Council of Malaysia was the chief of the delegation.
The 2022 Asian Para Games, also known as the 4th Asian Para Games and commonly known as the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Para Games, were a multi-sport event that paralleled the 2022 Asian Games which was held for Asian athletes with disabilities in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China from 22 to 28 October 2023. Hangzhou was the second Chinese city to host the Asian Para Games, after Guangzhou in 2010.
