Ireland competed in its first Fed Cup in 1964. Their best result was reaching the round of 16 in 1972.

The Billie Jean King Cup is the premier international team competition in women's tennis, launched as the Federation Cup in 1963 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the International Tennis Federation (ITF). The name was changed to the Fed Cup in 1995, and changed again in September 2020 in honor of former World No. 1 Billie Jean King. After the 2022 Russia invasion of Ukraine, the International Tennis Federation suspended Russia and Belarus from Billie Jean King Cup competitions.

The Pakistan Billie Jean King/Fed Cup team represents Pakistan in Billie Jean King Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Pakistan Tennis Federation.
