Ireland Wolves cricket team in Nepal in 2023–24

The Ireland Wolves cricket team toured Nepal in March and April 2024 to play three List A and three Twenty20 (T20) matches against a Nepal A side. [1] Before those matches, the team played a two-match T20 series against the senior Nepal men's side. [2] This was the first tour to Nepal by an Irish representative team. [3] The tour also marked the first-ever T20 series played by Nepal A. [4]

The Nepal men's national cricket team represents the country of Nepal in International cricket and is governed by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN). They have been Associate Member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) since 1996. Sompal Kami is a Nepalese professional cricketer. Kami is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm fast-medium bowler. He is one of the eleven cricketers to play in Nepal's first ever One Day International (ODI) match, against the Netherlands, in August 2018. In January 2019, he became the first bowler for Nepal to take a five-wicket haul in an ODI. He represents the Nepal Army Club of the National League, Jagdamba Giants of the Nepal Premier League, and New Horizon College, which plays in the SPA Cup.

Stephen Thomas Doheny is an Irish cricketer. He made his Twenty20 debut for Leinster Lightning in the 2017 Inter-Provincial Trophy on 11 August 2017. Prior to his T20 debut, he was part of Ireland's squad for the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.

The Bangladesh A cricket team toured Ireland to play 5 Unofficial ODIs and 3 Unofficial T20s in August 2018.

The 2019–20 Oman Pentangular Series was a Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket tournament, that was held in Oman in October 2019. Originally scheduled to be played between four teams, it was increased to five. The series was played by Hong Kong, Ireland, Nepal, the Netherlands and hosts Oman ahead of the 2019 ICC Men's T20 World Cup Qualifier tournament in the United Arab Emirates. All the matches were played at the Al Amerat Cricket Stadium in Muscat.

The Ireland cricket team toured India in March 2020 to play three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches against Afghanistan. On 11 January 2020, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) confirmed the fixtures for the three T20I matches.

The Nepal cricket team toured Malaysia in July 2019 to play a two-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series. The fixtures were part of both teams' preparation for the Asian Regional Qualifying Finals tournament for the 2019 ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier. Both matches were played at the Kinrara Oval in Kuala Lumpur. Ahead of the tour, Nepal's captain Paras Khadka named a twenty five-man preliminary squad for the Asian Regional Qualifying Finals, which was trimmed down to the final fourteen players. Nepal won the series 2–0, their first ever series whitewash. Malaysia retained the same squad for Asian Regional Qualifying Finals.

The 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup Global Qualifier A was a cricket tournament that took place in February 2022 in Oman, as one of two global tournaments that together formed the final stage of the qualification process for the 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. In April 2018, the International Cricket Council (ICC) granted full international status to Twenty20 men's matches played between member sides from 1 January 2019 onwards. Therefore, all the matches in the Global Qualifiers were Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).

The Ireland Wolves cricket team toured South Africa to play five unofficial Twenty20 International matches and two unofficial One Day International matches against the Namibian national team. Ireland Wolves won the T20 series 4–1. The List A series was won 2–0 by Namibia. Ireland Wolves finished their tour with a 50-over friendly match against a Northern Titans Invitation XI.

The Ireland Wolves cricket team toured Bangladesh in February and March 2021 to play an unofficial Test match, five unofficial One Day International matches and one unofficial Twenty20 International match against a Bangladesh Emerging team. The tour was confirmed a day after Ireland's tour of Zimbabwe was cancelled. The original tour schedule included two Twenty20 matches, but one was dropped from the itinerary on 13 March 2021.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Nepal at the 2022 Asian Games</span> Nepal in Multi Sports event

Nepal participated at the 2022 Asian Games, which was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China, from 23 September 2023 to 8 October 2023. The event was originally scheduled from 10 to 25 September 2022 but due to COVID-19 pandemic cases rising in China the event has been postponed and rescheduled to September-October 2023.

A men's cricket event was held as part of the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China from 27 September to 7 October 2023. Fourteen team competed in the event, and the participating teams were seeded according to their T20I rankings as of 1 June 2023. India won the Gold Medal, while Afghanistan finished as runners-up.

The Uganda women's cricket team toured Nepal in May 2022 to play a five-match bilateral Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) series. All of the matches in the series were played at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. These were the first Women's T20I matches played at Kirtipur. The series was used by Uganda as preparation for the 2022 Kwibuka Tournament.

The Nepal cricket team toured Kenya in August and September 2022 to play five Twenty20 International (T20I) matches and three 50-over matches. This was the first series in charge for Nepal's new head coach Manoj Prabhakar, after Pubudu Dassanayake resigned in July 2022. This series was Nepal cricket team's first visit to Kenya. This was also the first international cricket at the Gymkhana Club Ground for 10 years.

The Ireland cricket team toured Zimbabwe in January 2023 to play three One Day International (ODI) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. Zimbabwe won the T20I series 2–1. The ODI series was drawn 1–1 after the final match ended with no result due to rain.

The 2023 Nepal Tri-Nation Series was the 21st, and last, round of the 2019–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 cricket tournament took place in Nepal in March 2023. It was a tri-nation series between Nepal, Papua New Guinea and the United Arab Emirates cricket teams, with the matches played as One Day International (ODI) fixtures. The ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 formed part of the qualification pathway to the 2023 Cricket World Cup. Going into the final series of the League 2 tournament, Nepal required four wins from four games to claim the third and final automatic place in the 2023 Cricket World Cup Qualifier, at the expense of Namibia.

The 2024 Nepal Tri-Nation Series was the first round of the 2023–2027 ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 cricket tournament took place in Nepal in February 2024. The tri-nation series was contested by the men's national teams of Namibia, Nepal and Netherlands. The matches were played as One Day International (ODI) fixtures.

The Canada men's cricket team toured Nepal in February 2024 to play three One Day International (ODI) matches against Nepal. For Nepal, the series provided the preparation for the 2024 Nepal Tri-Nation Series. In January 2024, the Cricket Association of Nepal announced the bilateral series as a part of Nepal's cricket calendar for 2024.

The 2024 Hong Kong Tri-Nation Series was a Twenty20 International cricket tournament that was played in March 2024 in Hong Kong. The participating teams were Hong Kong, Nepal and Papua New Guinea.
