Orendi was, along with Berta Jikeli, the first female Olympian to represent Romania. [3] She was called a "leading girl athlete" coming into the Games. [4]

At the 1928 Olympics, Orendi was seeded in the 'A' qualifying round. She jumped 1.35 m to place 11th in her group and did not advance to the finals. [5]

Orendi competed in the athletics division of the Olimpia Brașov team. [8] She won the 1928 Romanian Athletics Championships in the 100 metres, high jump, long jump, shot put, and javelin throw.
