The Aro people or Aros are an Igbo subgroup that originated from the Arochukwu kingdom in present-day Abia state, Nigeria. The Aros can also be found in about 250 other settlements mostly in the Southeastern Nigeria and adjacent areas. The Aros today are classified as Eastern or Cross River Igbos because of their location, mixed origins, culture, and dialect. Their god, Chukwu Abiama, was a key factor in establishing the Aro Confederacy as a regional power in the Niger Delta and Southeastern Nigeria during the 18th and 19th centuries.

Alex Otti is a Nigerian economist, banker, investor, philanthropist and politician. Otti is the former Group Managing Director of Diamond Bank Plc, a leading retail financial institution in Nigeria. Otti was a gubernatorial candidate of Abia State on the platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). On 31 December 2015, The Court of Appeal which sat in Owerri removed Okezie Ikpeazu of the Peoples Democratic Party as governor of Abia State and declared Alex Otti of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, the winner of the April 11 and April 25 Governorship elections in the state. However, on February 3, 2016, the Supreme Court of Nigeria reversed the verdict of the Court of Appeal and affirmed the election of Ikpeazu as Governor. Dr. Alex Otti is a member of the editorial board of one of the most respected newspapers in Nigeria, Thisday, and writes a fortnightly column, every other Monday, titled "Outside The Box".

Oboro is one of four clans in the Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia state and the largest of them. It is bounded to the north by Ibeku and Bende clans, east by Olokoro, west by Ibere and south by the Isuogu. It was classified in the Ohuhu-Ngwa cluster of the Southern Igbo area by British anthropologists Daryll Forde and Gwilliam Iwam Jones. Its also one of the 18 Igbo clans of the Old Bende Division of the defunct Owerri Province. The Oboro speak a common language with the other 17 clans of the Bende Division though dialectal variations exist. These clans share a history of inter-ethnic relations.

Omoba Central Model School is located in Isiala-Ngwa South, Abia State, Nigeria. Former name: Omoba Central School. It was converted to model primary school in 1998 by Anthony Obi, Military Administrator of Abia State.
