Jammu & Kashmir Bank Football Club (simply known as J&K Bank FC [3] or J&K Bank XI) is an Indian professional football club based in Jammu and Kashmir, [4] that competes in the JKFA Professional League. [5] [6] It is an institutional club as they are owned by Jammu & Kashmir Bank and was founded in 1984. The U-18 team played in Elite League. [7] The senior team also participated in the first edition of Real Kashmir Cup. [8]
The J&K Bank Football Team was founded in 1984. Since that time they took part in several football tournaments. In 2007 the team won the north zone of National Football League Third Division and got promoted to National Football League Second Division.
J&K Bank Football Club was formed as an initiative to nurture and expand the success story of J&K Bank Football Academy, which began its journey in 2011. The young players were identified, chosen, picked up and trained by the J&K Bank Academy to become the football players they are at present in top clubs of Indian football league system. [9]
In the very first year of establishment in 2011, the academy team won B-division state league and qualified for the A-division. Then in the next season, they lifted A-division trophy to achieve their spot in state super division. [9]
The latest success achieved by the academy team is winning the Christmas Gold Cup in 2020 at the Govt. Gandhi Memorial Science College ground in Jammu. [10] [9]
As J&K Bank FC, they began their journey through participating in JKFA Professional League in the 2020–21 season. [11] [12]
In April 2021, J&K Bank as a professional club, achieved success in the 28th annual J&K Football Championship, delivering title winning performance against rivals Real Kashmir Reserves at the TRC Turf Ground. [13]
Success in football, like banking business, is more a product of efficient coordination within the team, optimum utilization of the resources and determination to stay ahead of others through a mix of well-thought strategy and timely use of opportunities. In 2021, the team participated in the inaugural season of JKFA Professional League, the first professional league in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, organised by Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) and J&K Sports Council. [14] [15] [16]
Mehrajuddin Wadoo is an Indian professional manager and former footballer. During his playing days, Wadoo played for clubs such as Mohun Bagan, East Bengal, Salgaocar, Pune City, Chennaiyin, and Mumbai City. He also represented the India national team from 2005 to 2011.

He is considered to be one of the best football coaches in the country. He holds the record for Winning two consecutive Silverwares, the Gold in South Asian Games and the SAFF CUP. He is son of international footballer Mohammad Yousuf Dar.
Popular sports in Jammu and Kashmir include cricket, football and winter sports along with sports like golf, water sports, Ice stock sport and adventure sports. The National Winter Games have been held in Gulmarg in 1996, 2004 and 2009. The first Khelo India Winter Games were held in February and March 2020 in Leh and Gulmarg. Jammu and Kashmir won the most gold medals while the Indian Army team came second with 8 gold medals. The second edition of the winter games were also held successfully in Gulmarg in 2020 with Jammu and Kashmir coming first and Karnataka second.
TRC Turf Ground is a football stadium located in Srinagar, in Jammu and Kashmir, India. Owned by Jammu & Kashmir Football Association, It is currently the home ground of Real Kashmir and most JKFA Professional League teams.

The Positive Kashmir Football Championship is an annual football tournament organized by The Positive Kashmir and Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council. The first edition was held in September and October 2021. J&K Bank defeated J&K SPDC XI by 5–2 in the finals. The second edition was kicked off in October to November 2022. The defending champion J&K Bank defeated FC One with 1–0.
